I will admit to getting upset very recently with someone on one of the other game threads I participate in here.

Sorry to hear that, Lardy. Having gotten to know you through these forums over many years, I'm sure you had a perfectly good reason to be upset at this other person. Hope it is resolved quickly and to everybody's satisfaction.

It wasn't all that bad, I suppose. More of a matter of honor.

I think I know the instance you are talking about Lardy. I do understand, based on the situation, and I hope you felt you were able to express your side of the matter.

It wasn't all that bad, I suppose. More of a matter of honor. A duel! A duel! At dawn with sandwiches and tea! And we can bring some things to eat and drink too! I've been away from Spaceopoly for a while, so feel quietly confident it was not I who besmirched Paladin's honor or his honour.

Well, just imagine you were in a thread trying to guess something as the info you get narrows it down. You see the latest guess, and it's wrong. You know the right answer and post it. Once you've posted it, you see the other person has edited their answer to the correct answer after re-examining the available info. While they didn't edit it after seeing your post, their original post was wrong while yours was right.
If I were that person, I would at least give you the opportunity to be the winner of that round if you wanted to. Maybe you'd graciously decline, but it seems the right thing to do in the situation.
But he didn't do anything like that. He admitted that what i said happened was true and continued on. I decided not to participate in his round for that reason, though I didn't state as much.
Maybe I'm being petty, but I feel that in the spirit of this place, he didn't do the right thing.

By jove, the rotter is both a cad and a bounder!
Had I decided on such a course of action, my dishonour would have forced me to join the foreign legion, lest I ruin everything my family stood for.

I'm mortified when I miss out a _ in the hangman game, never mind delving into the murky world of ... shenanigans. Or there as that time in the hangman game where it looked fine on my phone. On the PC I discovered there were no spaces created. So it looked like the answer was going to have to be a single word in Welsh.

On the Mclaughlin Group, an American political round table show, they would sometimes have two panelists named "Mort", which would lead to the host, John McLaughlin (not that one), exclaiming "I'm mortified!"

I don't think I've ever personally known anyone named Mort, Morton or Morty. I've worked in retail most of my life, so that's something!

Mort was the title of the fourth book in Terry Pratchett's discworld series.

Apparently "Mort" was the first Discworld book the author felt really happy with. He felt the other stories were written to contain the jokes whereas this one had jokes within the plot.

Morton "Mort" Meskin was an exceptionally talented comic book artist from the Golden Age. His most well-known signature characters were Vigilante and Johnny Quick. Sadly, he was also insecure, and anxious, and spent long periods of his life in mental health hospitals. His friends, who included Jerry Robinson and George Roussos, helped him out as much as they could. Thanks to the championing by comics historians of his work, he has gained a greater following posthumously than he had in his lifetime.

Johnny Quick was generally a solid feature.
Mort Meskin also created the underrated Mark Merlin in the Silver Age.

I liked Johnny Quick and Jesse Quick's usage during Mark Waid's run on The Flash.

I read Waid's run a bit. And if I relate to his own work on the Legion, I appreciate how he works in supporting characters and gives them chances to shine.

The 2nd and 3rd appearances of Waid's creation, Impulse -- in Flash v.2 #93-94 -- were beautifully guest-penciled by Carlos Pacheco.

I really enjoyed the XS / Impulse dynamic. Very realistic IMO, if I compare to me and some of my cousins.

If it's true that DC will be going continuity-lite in the near future, I hope we will see more of Impulse and XS, among many other things.

Like imaginary stories where Superman marries Jimmy Olsen and Kara can't decide between centaurs and mermen!

Bendis will incorporate Batman, from that imaginary story (what are the other ones, if this one is imaginary?) where Supes brought him into the Legion's time to stay. Haunted by his past, imaginary Bats will be the guy behind the Planet Gotham that we've seen.

It's all just an Imaginary Story, which is why everyone changes from issue to issue and nobody has any personality!
