I have never been to Grosse Pointe, Michigan, but I think it's a funny name. And speaking of "gross," none other than Geoff Johns is from Grosse Pointe. hmmm

The Netherlands has a lot of dams.

Or so I've heard.

so we do!

There was flooding in Cagayan province in the Philippines, due to a combination of heavy rains and improper water release from a nearby dam...

For a few years as a teenager I lived in Mt Isa which is a mining town in far north west Queensland. The main water supply was a lake/dam several kilometres out of town but also a favourite place to go to relax. The sindle road out the dam tended to accumulate litter so each year there was one day which was the annual cleanup day. I used to think it so funny to be able to call it the "Dam Road Pickup Day". (As a youth it was fun to be able to swear without really swearing.)

The Dutch are usually very practical with naming. In Amsterdam there is a New Church, an Old Church, a West Church...

One time I was heading to the airport, and the app was telling me to get off at Busstation. and I was like, well, which one?

I was about to ask the bus driver, when the bus pulled up to the station...

and it was literally just named "Busstation".

One of our family dogs is a sweet thing, I can go to sleep cuddled up beside her, and when I wake up she's still right there.

Well, one of them is more like a cat than a dog, always hiding under the bed so nobody will interrupt his nap tongue

lol

Thanks, Stile.

I loved that cartoon. Still do. I love all three of the segments: "George of the Jungle," "Super Chicken," "Tom Slick."

There was one time I didn't like a segment of "Super Chicken," but this is the fun forum so I'll post it in the MMB.

I've never seen the George of the Jungle cartoons or even the Brendan Fraser movie.

I've seen the movie, and if I remember right the movie intro/opening was animated.

There have been plenty of animated yet civilized discussions in both the Legion and Gymlls forums. One of my favorite things about Legion World.

I've also personally gotten better at not reading too much into responses, and thinking that "well, that sounded not very nice, perhaps they dislike me!"

Having had a few experiences with people who seem determined to uncharitably second-guess my motives, especially on the internet, I always try to give other people the benefit of the doubt.

Best way to make sure others give me the benefit of the doubt is to do the same to them.
