Welcome to the House of Kent! Superman?s truth is out there?and now it?s time to rewrite the rules! The invisible mafia has taken advantage of the chaos that?s descended on Metropolis, so the House of Kent is going to talk to them in a language they?ll understand. It?s a new adventure featuring Superman like you?ve never seen him?or them?before, in a story guest-starring Supergirl and two?yes, two!?Superboys!
And Lightning Twins, when Ayla is clearly Light Lass and not Lightning Lass? Meh.
I do like that Computo is on the cover, cementing her place as a full-fledged Legionnaire. At least we got someone from a later version of the Legion on the team!
So, I'm assuming there will be an updated cover or the previous issue in this format as well? If we have 16 more, that'll give us an official roster of 33.
I love the logos they used. It gives a degree of individuality to the Legionnaires.
Yeah, the Timber Wolf, Karate Kid and Brainiac 5 fonts are pretty on-theme. I kind of wish the Dawnstar, Chameleon Boy and White Witch titles were a little more evocative, 'though. Something with three overlapping different colored logos could have been fun for Triplicate Girl, for instance. Gah, now I want to design a custom logo for everyone, but lack any sort of skill in that area... Ah, well, those who can't do, criticize, and that's me.
The legend to the picture for LOSH reads: New Love! New Krypton! New Lanterns! above a picture that shows Superboy and Saturn Girl about to kiss!
Edit: From Ryan Sook's page, The picture in question is the cover for issue #10! Here is a better version of it as Ryan Sook shares the creation process: https://www.instagram.com/p/CCb1aZ3BOKd/
I'm always in awe of Ryan Sook's art. The Legion has a tradition of ridiculously good artists and Sook definitely doesn't drop that ball and is up there with the very best.
Here's the regular cover to LSH #9 with trade dress via DC Nation on Twitter. I was wondering how they were going to pull this off based on the cover design.
I wish this had a better writer, the art is sooo pretty.....I just can't with Bendis' conversations that take 3/4 of an issue and where every character's voice sounds the same
