Thinking about it, at least anecdotally, there is probably some truth to that. The local comics shop near me is close to a good restaurant that we like to frequent, and there's ALWAYS folks in there (at least pre-COVID) because they host tabletop/CCG/RPG games in the back, plus they still have monthly subscription bins.
