I think the problem with this series is the same as it was with a few of the other Legion reboots, and that is the attempt to introduce the whole 20-30 member team all at once. Remember, when the Legion was originally introduced into Superboy stories in the 1950s and 1960s, they added one, two or three members with each appearance, so by the time the Legion got their own regular series in ADVENTURE COMICS, the readers were already familiar with the entire team.

But now Benids is simultaneously trying to satisfy long-time fans by introducing all the heroes we've known and loved, but also giving new versions of the whole team that needs introductions that many of us are getting impatient to get for every last member. And considering Bendis's habit of decompressing stories, the introductions could take awhile.

Watching television is not an activity.

THANK YOU, I feel exactly the same way about all the interruptions!

Fun issue. I like that Dawnstair has a last name, and that it pays tribute to Grell. Adding a name that doesn't have a presumed traditional native american feel makes the character seem a tad less stereotypical and tokenish. And is there anyone who deserves a Legion tribute more than Mike Grell? We're beginning to get to know the Legionnaires a bit more. Rock and Tasmia as a couple should be fun. I'm liking Gim's personality. Can't wait to see what Mon-El's story is after the hint dropped this issue. The interactions between Superyboy and Robin felt natural and in character. So far, each issue gives me a little more information and leaves me anxious to pick up the next issue to see what comes next. That's a good start.

Something else revealed in this issue which I haven't seen anyone else mention yet:
This version of the LSH (and perhaps this version of the UP) has access to interstellar teleportation.
I wonder, is it limited to locations with established stations, or can they use it to go places where they've never been?
Starships could be obsolete in this 31st century!

"Gee, Brainy, what do you want to do tonight?"
"The same thing we do every night, Bouncing Boy: try to take over the United Planets!!"
They're B.B. and The Brain ...

Good point. I had noticed the Legion teleporting but hadn't thought about the consequences.

I would assume Star Boy or whoever it was forgetting to close the portal in the first issue suggests that the teleportation tech is in everyday use. Maybe?

There were portals in the 3boot ("transmatter room" in Issue #1), but also space ships. I think there was something in later issues written by Shooter about people getting nauseous when they used the portals.
