The best thing about kids is that they have many years ahead to change their minds and learn to appreciate the good stuff.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff was always one of my favorite stories as a kid.

Donald Duck is one of the fake employees we created to test the configuration of one of our HR systems.

Ronald Duck and Mickey Moose were a couple of Muppets from "The Muppet Show," intended to make a satirical point about the Disney Corporation. Ironically, the Muppets later ended up being sold to Disney.

My high school head teacher did too. Said it was unrealistic. I met a guy at a party last week, who is adorable by the way, and we're both into each other. How it started? we were talking about relationships, and how in this age of open marriages, we both preferred monogamy. Then he said the line, "I'm a hopeless romantic. Disney ruined me." And I was like "OMG, I say that to my friends all the time too!" We ended up spending the whole weekend together. And we're going to spend Christmas together too

Congratulations, Ibby! How romantic!
Re: Disney, Grant Morrison also despises Disney -- ironically, about 12 years before Disney bought Marvel, Morrison wrote a mini-series, "Marvel Boy," (beautifully drawn by J.G. Jones) which ends with an anti-heroic "freedom fighter" shooting a guy wearing a Donald Duck costume at the Disneyland Theme Park.
Obviously, "Marvel Boy" is not available at Marvel Unlimited, and the trade collecting it will most likely never be reissued.
It's well worth tracking down and reading. And I consider Morrison's output to be hit-and-miss overall.

How to Read Donald Duck (Spanish: Para leer al Pato Donald) is a 1971 book-length essay by Ariel Dorfman and Armand Mattelart that critiques Disney comics from a Marxist point of view as being vehicles for American cultural imperialism.

Pato is also the Tagalog word for Duck.
Tagaog has so many loan words from Spanish.

"Loan words" is kind of a weird term. Do we have to give them back?

How about "shared words?" After all, sharing is caring, as our much-missed friend Abin Quank (whose birthday it would have been yesterday had he not been taken from us) used to say.

Rats. I'm not ready to be all Emerald Legion. My sexy green-and-black costume isn't ready yet, and I still have that pesky bit of holiday flab to work off before my abs show again...
