In college my statistics professor was so boring. I learned how to yawn with my mouth closed.

As a child, it always amused me how comic book characters would often talk with their mouths closed. Whenever I'd see that, I'd start making nonsense noises with my mouth closed.

Because of Peanuts cartoons, I always thought some teachers would make honking noises.

People who only have seen the animated specials are often surprised at the dark places the Peanuts comic strip goes. There was a story arc in 1965 where Linus' blanket becomes sentient and begins attacking Lucy who runs from the house in fear and dissolves into tears on the sidewalk in front of Charlie Brown, who, breaking the fourth wall, muses that he never thought she would be the first in their little group to crack up.

As a 4-year-old, reading the 1966 story arc about Snoopy's house burning down scared me and then saddened me. Even when they built him a new home, it felt more like a bittersweet ending than a happy one.

I consider 1964-1967 to be the very best that Peanuts ever got.

The Dick Van Dyke show had a dark episode. Where a new neighbor admitted to being a wife beater albeit a recovering one.

At least with 1960s sitcoms, dark and serious episodes were a rarity. Not so in the 70s, with all that "social relevance" stuff. In the 80s, it was even worse -- "This week, don't miss A Very Special Episode of "Mr. Belvedere."" Yuk.

I didn't realize until recently that the character of Mr. Belvedere actually dates back to the 1940s.

I encountered the word "belvedere" as a child, but had to look it up just now. It makes sense though, coming from the root "belle" or "bella"".

It's useful for puns like "belvaderriere".

I would like to have one of those.

How many other ways are there to eat buns?

That one with the banana in the hotdog bun looks nice but thinking about I am noping it.

Bananas and buns. What a nice combination.

Nutritional value is important.

But so is taste

That's where futuristic meal in a pill things fell down. All the nutritional content but icky taste.

We were supposed to have personal helicopters by this point

I thought we were planning for jetpacks?

Or better yet, working flight rings.
