Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. Now go away or I will taunt you a second time.

I have a pair of socks with a map design on them. My coworkers thought the lines were spider webs.

Ironically, they were all consumed by a giant spider when asking for directions.

The giant ants in Them! were nasty looking. Aliens looks to have been influenced by the finale of that movie.

In the show Land of the Giants, the young boy was played by Stefan Arngrim. His sister Alison Arngrim is better known as she played Nellie Oleson on Little House on the Prairie.

Empires and Dance was the title of an early Simple Minds album.

Simple Simon met a pieman
Headed to the fair
Said Simple Simon to the pieman,
"Let me taste your wear?"
Said the pieman to Simple Simon,
"First I'll need your penny"
Said Simple Simon to the pieman,
"Indeed I haven't any" frown

Simon Bar Sinister was a foe of Underdog. In the live action movie had Peter Dinkage playing the role.

I wonder if Overman, the evil Nazi version of Superman from Earth-10, has his own version of Krypto.

If so, is it called "Overdog"?

There's a Miracledog in Alan Moore's Miracleman. There's one issue when people refer to him as Overmutt or something when he poops from the sky. Having pinched Earth-10 Overman from Kid Miracleman in the same comic, I'd not have been surprised to have seen an overdog on Earth-10 too.

No wonder Alan Moore loathes Grant Morrison so much. If there's any truth to the rumors of Morrison deliberately stealing from Moore at *every single turn* of Moore's career (while at the same time insulting him as if by reflex), it's downright creepy. shudder

I've not really compared their careers/works side by side. With Moore falling out with so many companies, his career has taken some odd twists and turns. Morrison would have to be a self destructive masochist to have followed down those paths deliberately. smile That's not to say we're not getting the sanitised spandex versions of Moore's works. Morrison deliberately stole from any number of people at one time, so it wasn't just Moore at the receiving end of it. smile The reflexive insulting, while pocket picking, sounds like his earlier days too. smile

As I was typing, I was just thinking of the early Jerry Cornelius obsession Morrison seemed to have. Moorcock influenced a lot of people, and Morrison has certainly run happily through his career with the spoils: King Mob and his version of the Multiverse being some quick examples. He does like to do his pinching at Harrods, so it's often the best of knock offs that you get. smile

There is an episode of the Avengers where Emma Peel is working in Harrod’s and is stocking a shelf with toy Daleks

A payoff in Terry Nation created Blake's 7 was to be a Dalek invasion fleet, but the Beeb managed to steer it to a generic amalgamation of attacking spaceships. Nation, who created the Daleks, never really got them to succeed independently. They were the villains in the Doctor Who feature films and there are some gorgeously drawn Daleks comics by Richard Jennings and Ron Turner. Some samples here

I’ve never seen Blake’s 7 but I have heard about it.

The first Dr Who episode I saw was an episode from the Jon Pertwee story Inferno. I didn’t like it. I later saw the Tom Baker series and was hooked. Later I did go back and watched Inferno. It was a good story. The episode I first watched was in the middle of the story which is why I probably didn’t like it.
