The comic book ads were delightful.

Almost as delightful as that light, golden sponge cake and its luscious cream filling!

Well, why not.

But I'm biased. Bananas and mangoes and papayas from the Philippines just taste... different.

I saw a film cover that combined the Banana Splits kids show with axe murdering the other day. Sort of a dark humour horror crossover I guess.

That's one way to split the banana...

Splitting bananas is more fun then splitting atoms. Or splitting the check.

I handled a divorce once. The couple was married for a year, no property, no kids, and both wanted it.

Sometimes it just makes sense.

Plenty of opposition to divorce in proudly Catholic Philippines, though.

I actually have mixed feelings on divorce.

On the one hand, it obviously is the best solution in many cases.

However, I also think there's something to the argument that if you make divorce too easy/common, then marriage becomes kind of pointless.

There's also something to be said about being sure before tying the knot.

Exactly. I think the trend these days of waiting until later to get married is probably a positive thing.

Also living together before marriage can help a couple see if they are compatible.

A classmate met a guy in Warsaw, and got married to him 16 months later. We were all understandably flabbergasted.

Interestingly, researchers still cannot seem to agree whether living together before marriage is linked to divorce rates at all.

Problems with past studies:

1) did not consider intentions for moving in together (should focus only on those intending to get married)
2) consider how to control for bias, as cohabitation is still traditionally not a "good" thing

Blaze and I cohabited in the 2 years or so before we broke up. We argued A LOT more during that time...

My cousin in Poland does not like Warsaw old town. This is because during WWII the buildings were destroyed and then rebuilt. So to her it is not really the old town.

I have a Facebook friend who is very much into celebrating his Polish heritage. He also likes posting shirtless selfies. love

I posted a few shirtless photos from my beach trip to Croatia, which I thought was an appropriate context. I mean, who wears a suit to the beach? But no, apparently nosey people from the Philippines still thought it was tacky and too much of a thirst trap.

No wonder I left the country.

I have some naturist friends who are spending this weekend with some like minded folks. Personally, I put on mittens on the way to the shops this morning. Oh, and I was born fully dressed as are all British people.

I have a British colleague who always wears a three-piece suit to work. Most people show up in jeans.

I'd hold off on choosing your wardrobe for it. You might have to get an outfit that fits in with a Mad Max movie the way things turn out. smile

Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale were the archenemies of Rocky and Bullwinkle, Not me. That's a different Rocky. wink
