"The Monster Mash" was the biggest hit by Bobby "Boris" Pickett.

The TV show M*A*S*H lasted longer than the actual Korean War.

Auntie Beeb (related to Auntie Monitor) produced a radio drama that lasted the equivalent of the first world war it covered. Ironically, had such a broadcast been availabe during that war, the sheer tedium of it would have brought an unconditional surrender within a couple of months if transmitted over enemy lines.

I've thought that an awesome idea for a comic would be a weekly All-Star Squadron-type comic that takes place in "real time", so that one issue of the comic would correspond to one week of the war.

Then you might like BBC's Homefront. I always got exercise when it was on. That race to the radio when they announced the Omnibus edition was next up. smile I recall Roy Thomas noting in passing that All Star was still in the early part of the war after 50odd issues.

Yeah, I don't think A-SS ever reached the end of 1942. So, less than a year for the whole series.

This seems like an appropriate place to plug the super-cool old time radio podcast Adam Graham presents The War.

I remember E-2 Superman making a joke about the abbreviation of the A-SS smile

That seems a bit unbecoming for Golden Age Supes.

Far better than his treatment in Infinite Crisis, though.

That's the understatement of the past quarter-century.

To think that Infinite Crisis was originally supposed to be the darkest hour before a new dawn. Or so some disgruntled creators have claimed.

Whatever the true intent, there's no escaping that the thing that actually saw print was utter crap. shake

His joke was: "We have to be careful how we abbreviate it!"

Tsk. GA Supes even thinking to say that is the start of the slope that ends up with Morrison doing another dark, tired, knock off version of Kid Miracleman.

This morning I read the story in which E2 Supes marries E2 Lois. What a fun tale!

The Lois/Clark marriage is one of the strongest elements of the Superman stories, I believe.

Lewis never married Clark?! It's bad enough I've been mis-sold a Lois and Clark boxset, but for that plotline not to end in married bliss is a real disappointment.

I'm not a Mark Knopfler fan, but this story-song of his, with Knopfler as Dixon and James Taylor as Mason, is pure bliss:

I haven’t like Mark Knopfler because of the lyrics to Money for Nothing
