A scream pierced the early morning mist on Legion World.
"It...it didn't stand a chance," said the distraught worker at Kem's All You Can Eat (If You Dare) Bakery numbly. "It's been... cut in two..." >choke<
Quis slowly rubbed his stubbled chin. It had been a long night on the Murder Phone. Now some of that darkness had followed him into the struggling day.
An indiscriminate carnage of rich sponge littered the shop front. Deep viscous red stains worked their way accusingly down the walls. Rasperry...no strawberry filling.
It reminded Quis of a similar scene this time last year. It seemed that something acted as a trigger for the culprit to commit these acts. Some kind of ... anniversary. Quis pushed sleep, and breakfast croissants, from his mind. He had until the noon Omnicon editions to track down Shark Lad. Before another Birthday cake suffered the same cruel fate.
"He.. didn't... didn't even wait for lunch!" sobbed the shop assistant behind him.
