Welcome to......

Kill This Thread XXVII

The following rules were established by Kent Shakespeare at the start of the first 24-hour version, adapted from the original rules by EDE:

The rules:

1. The Basic Idea: Post to this thread, if no one posts after you for 24 hours, you win!

2. Posts that are not direct responses to one of the five preceding posts are ineligible to win. The topic can drift, but no complete non-sequitors. Posts that are responses to non-sequitors are also ineligible to win. Posts that are responses to responses to non-sequitors, and response nses to those posts, etc., become eligible, however.

3. In the event that this thread is locked, there shall be no winner unless a new thread is started for the contest. Furthermore, any post that results in the banning of the poster shall also be ineligible to win.

4. So, more precisely, one wins if one makes a post, and then no one makes another post that's eligible to win for 24 hours.

Although it says "adapted from the original rules by EDE" I don't think EDE has won a kill this thread, thread. That's something that should be rectified one of these centuries.

I predict it'll finally be rectified by...DUCK DODGERS, in the 24th and a half century!

I don't mind, since the original point of the thread was not for anyone to actually win it, but just to create an open-ended discussion thread that would continue on indefinitely!

That reminds me of the old commercial for Faberge Organics Shampoo with pure wheat germ oil and honey. I told two friends and they told two friends, and they told two friends, and so on, and so on.

Commercial with Heather Locklear

In case it doesn't come up, it's a Kraftwerk inspired ad for a dishwasher.

One million French think they're tres bon
Half a million Germans can't be wrong
From Italia to Briton
Ariston and on and on and on...

Very cute.

I like seeing the funny foreign commercials. There is one for English classes that has. Family (mom, dad, & two young daughters) bopping their heads to the beat of a song that has obscene English lyrics.

People who say they are martyrs to their feet, haven't tried hand stands.

No pain is good except for those into S&M.

Even with S&M, it's the pleasure that they derive from the pain that is good, not the pain itself.

And sometimes the pleasure is psychological. Like pleasure from feeling used or degraded.

I felt used having to buy rubbish James Robinson comics that I had put on advance order. I derived no pleasure at all from it.

I'll occassionally get asked about restarting an advance order but I'm wary of doing so now.

Order is good, but sometimes chaos can be comforting.
