I'm not clear on the issue numbers of those late silver/early bronze comics. Is that the entire Action run? And is that the first Superboy feature or just a random issue that happens to have Legion content?
Sheesh, I know that nobody's seen the ocean's for 1000 years, but you'd think that LL would realize that using his lightning powers while they're in water is a bad idea.
Hmm... I wonder who Karate Kid is grappling with? A v8 Devilfish perhaps?
Weird that no one's seen the oceans in a thousand years. Like, they make up 2/3 of the planet - what's in their place if not them?
I wrote somewhere else that I hoped that making Cosmic Boy Asian wouldn't see him relegated from his traditional spot as the central character (and defacto leader) of the Original 3, and lo and behold...
DC, and America in general I've noticed, seems to have a real problem with putting Asian males in any kind of leadership or spotlighted position over black or white characters. I hope this is just a one-off.
Also, only the second issue and already they're tying it to another 21st century DCU concept/property - Aquaman and his trident. I'm sure that's not going to cause headaches whenever Aquaman's universe next gets rebooted/reimagined.

Not to worry. The Legion is in its own private little causal loop reality, isolated from the rest of the DC Universe. The UP created the Legion, which went back in time to help Superboy create the UP which created the Legion which went back in time to help Superboy create the UP which created the Legion which went back in time...

One would think it ties in with the destruction of the Earth teased on the previous cover, except that clearly didn't take place 1,000 years before, since we're supposedly seeing the history of Earth over the next 1,000 years in Millennium.

I'm looking forward to the Omnibus.
Well, over in Marvel the Agents of Atlas is headed up an Asian character and ... oh, what? ... all the team are asian now? ... forget what I was about to say.

Someone could snarkily point out that, technically, they managed to dodge the bullet of having white people taking direction from an Asian dude by making the entire team Asian.
But Marvel's already had a Champions team led by Kamala Khan, and the original Agents of Atlas (Gorilla Man, the Uranian, Venus, Namora, etc.) led by Jimmy Woo, so they've already blazed that trail.
Before DC puts an Asian in charge of one of their teams, I think they have to get some Asians and give them some page-time. Katana could maybe head up a Birds of Prey / Outsiders lineup, but I don't think Thunderlord, Bushido or Striker Z are ready to lead the Justice League or Teen Titans any time soon...
Edit: Oh wait. Damien technically counts as Asian. And he's led a team. Ugh. I'm not Asian, but I'm a *human,* and I wouldn't count him as representing me...
The solicits make me wish they could have gotten Aqualad (Kaldurdum/Jackson) instead of Superboy for the Legion's 21st century connection. He is a complex character and with Young Justice revived it could have potentially brought in sales.

Canonically, the Legion was inspired by: (1) Superboy (2) Superboy and Supergirl (3) Superman (4) The Legend of Superboy / Superman (5) Valor (6) L.E.G.I.O.N. and R.E.B.E.L.S. (7) Earth-Prime Comic Books (8) The United Planets Superwatch (9) ?

Yes, that is the entire Action run!! (and as someone else already answered, SB 147 is the first telling of the Legion origin!)
I am SO excited to see this!!!! I had actually been pouring over the internet for news on this and had given up. I guess the re-starting of the LSH series prompted this. Stil no pre-order in Amazon, usually they show up many months in advance, this seems like\ a last-minute decision.
Adv 362-363 contains my favorite Sliver Age Legion story - Mantis Morlo. Omnibus #2 had stopped just shy of this.
Given the length of most Omibuses, I was hoping they could throw in the many random issues of Superboy leading up to the Suberboy and the Legion of Super-heroes re-title... but I guess that would technically be Bronze age!
the modern LSH solicit is intriguing.. perhpas we will finally have an Atlantean Legionnaire?
