It was a little slight and just THERE, but nothing I actually disliked. At this point, I've lowered my expectations of the new series so much that THERE and me not hating it will be considered a success!

I'm not going in expecting anything enjoyable. Hopefully I'll be greatly shocked. A lot of the character redesigns make no sense as to the previous incarnations of the characters, like a bulky Brin who's power is super-athleticism. Members whose powers are object based rather than innate. Is it the Legion if it isn't the Legion? Big question.
EDIT! That said, I'm gonna give it a try just like I have every other legion book since I've been reading. It can only go up in my estimation.

I agree with everything you said Rick. We'll see though …… hopefully the creators will surprise us with their own unique spin on our assumptions! One thing's for sure though, I am really looking forward to reading the Legion again on a monthly basis!

Bendis has been actively answering questions on Twitter and Instagram, so if anyone here has accounts on those platforms, now seems like the best time to ask.

I'm impressed by that guy's ability to block out just how bad Heroes in Crisis was!

I don't need to see the video to know that it's not the worst comic of 2019. I've already seen plenty of comics I'd not touch with a subjective bargepole. I've read a number that were poorer overall than Millennium. But why let that interfere with a soundbite? Puts on video … Nope. Lasted a few minutes and gave up disagreeing strongly with nearly everything said. Ironically, he's bashing Bendis for random and poorly supported scenes, but doesn't correctly establish any of his criticisms, making them seem random and poorly supported. Definitely the worst review video I've heard in 2019.

I haven't read that many comics published in 2019, but if LSH: Millenium is the worst of them, then the overall quality of comics published right now must be much better than I imagined!
Not that Millennium is particularly good or inspiring or anything, but it's like when someone names "the worst band ever!" and it turns out to be some bland but inoffensive pop group and you're just like, "Really? That's the worst you can come up with?"

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion..... but that's all it is, ONE person's opinion. The difference is this person is drawing attention to himself and thus snowballing a negative public perception, which is just wrong. I didn't hate the story in Part 1! I know that it was "fodder" for a build up to Part 2 and the re-introduction of the Legion. I will wait until that happens before I pass judgement. Just sayin'

Negativity sells! Yeah, it's not BAD. It's not amazingly good, but it's also not bad. Sometimes people just need some perspective.

Is Millenium vital reading before the Legion comic starts? I was thinking about reading the Superman issue when they appear, but wasn’t sure if there is a need to read these issues as well.

You can probably skip Millennium #1 at least. I'm assuming #2 will have a substantive Legion appearance, but we'll see.

My guess would be that if you are willing to accept “Rose and Thirn lived a thousand years for some reason and joined the Legion” as an a given, it’s skippable, but we’ll see. Even the Superman stuff may turn out to be skippable if you can just accept Jon Kent in the Legion. It revolves around the formation of the UP in the 21st century, which will probably not be an active plot point in the new series.

The Millenium issue 1 is definitely NOT required reading It's just a bunch of scenes trying to link DC's future stories together in some kind of arc. Not 100% sure why
There is NO Legion in the first issue so that's a let down

ooh, interesting...
does this mean Omac becomes a member??, and also - can't believe I never noticed this before - doesn't Omac look a lot like Atmos ? (except for having armpits?) Perhaps they will merge the characters somehow...

I just read LOSH: Millenium #2 and it's more of the same. Beautiful graphically but more of the same for the story. Thankfully we finally have the LOSH part at the end of the issue and i really liked it. I will wait for more people to have read it to develop more on it and keep the surprise.

Too little Legion in this story to put the Legion on the cover and title. I expected most of this issue to be about the Legion.

This issue brought a little more thematic unity to the series, so it didn't feel quite as random as the previous one. This whole series felt like it could have been told in a couple of text pages from the 5YL era, and I'm pretty sure I would have preferred it that way.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
So, apparently Earth's history for the next 1000 years is one of repeatedly pulling itself back from massive disaster time and time again.
Bendis has borrowed the "New Earth" concept from the SW6 series, where what's left appear to be domed cities/regions kind of tentatively linked together. Probably not a bit of Legion lore that *I* would have chosen to grab, but...
Probably the biggest deal of the issue: Invisible Kid is confirmed to be there, and it's apparently Lyle.

Yay! To Lyle! Glad it's him. I don't care what ethnicity they end up using for him, though.
I'm hoping the actually series as a lot more meat to them than this series had. And we desperately need Encyclopedia Galactica captions. Bendis says he likes them.

Was also a concept of Atari Force back in the mid 1980’s so if Martin Champion, Tempest, Dart, Blakjack, Babe, etc. might make a comeback in the DC Universe that would be really cool.

I thought the second issue was better than the first. It seemed to have a more cohesive progression, although the story is really Rose's journey which just happens to end up with the Legion. Looking at it that way, the first issue fits better because it is a reflection of Rose's feeling of being confused, lost and depressed.
Nice to see that the posed group shot actually WAS a posed group shot in the story (although the speculation about Invisible Kid being in it was both right and wrong - he is in it but not where we thought. Apparently E-Lad's awkwardness is just due to him being camera shy - and I hadn't noticed his bare feet before). Obviously this takes after John Kent has received his parents' permission for the trip.
So now we know whose head that is in the edge of the frame. Probably would have guessed if I had realised this was actually part of the story and not just promotional art.
I really wonder what it is that Rose has to say to the Legion. Glad to see the hook into the start of the series.

Legion aside, on first reading, I preferred the first issue. I think it's partly due to the first issue have identifiable eras throughout. This one had a Rose in space segment followed by an alien gangster one I couldn't place. Perhaps this is Bendis' addition to the other eras that we've seen? I was wondering if anything new was going to be added, in amongst the classic eras that have held their own series.
What does it say about the Space Museum's security if Booster invites everyone he fancies to steal things and travel back in time with him? What does it say about their security, if Thorn manages this and they do nothing to prevent it happening again when Booster goes?
The segments were of roughly the same length as the first issue and the threads of heroism and connection to the Els continued too. Rose seems to suddenly realise what her purpose is. Hopefully more will be revealed on what helped her make her decision, amongst other things, in the Legion series.
We're in on the ground floor of the founding of the Legion. Lyle is there, but Andrew, Val and Condo haven't died as Legionnaires. Superboy would appear to have been invited to join as a founding member as they were organising the group. A classic line up, using the post boot world representatives on a TMK New Earth. It shows Bendis has done his homework here and I do like the combination. It being a founding ceremony explains why they're always seen as a huge group. That will presumably go down to normal mission sizes. The mem is a nice touch of new sci-fi in this bright shiny world of optimism. Very happy with what I've seen of the Legion so far.
