Someone pointed out that Melody Moore, the Fire Chief from Action Comics, has red hair and meets all of the requirements. I don’t think I’ve seen her listed here as a possibility, but I may have missed it.
ikr? So many of my discussion groups have been blowing up. I fear the comedown when the initial surge dies down and they all go back to normal levels while we wait for the debut.
So I tried staying off here because I didn't want to be a buzz kill and ruin everyone else's hope but screw it I feel nothing but hate for these redesigns.
I’ve got the interview in my feed now. Will listen tonight at work, hopefully post something in the morning, depending on how much listening time the job let’s me have.
I listened to all of part one and most of part two before I had to get some sleep. Not much is revealed about the Legion that we already don't know.
However, this is a completely new take on the Legion "for this generation" and the main reason for setting it in the 32nd century was not to infringe on any of the Legion stories that came before. He's not saying those stories happened in his Legion's past, but they also necessarily didn't happen.
This Legion is the only Legion for the current DC's continuity. And these stories will be the first time we are seeing them. Like his Ultimate Universe, Bendis will be taking inspiration from the stories that came before.
The interviewer wonders - not too seriously - if he was saying Mi-LANE-ium and the mystery character is Lois Lane. It did sound like that.
The 2-part interview is long - haven't finished part 2 myself - but worth a listen for general Bendis comics talk. Bendis does sound quite enthusiastic and acknowledges that the Legion often starts out strong with a new team and later falls apart (not his exact words); he of course hopes to avoid this.
Purple lady - maybe Shikari? or new character. Veilmist could be a possibility. If they've made Dream Girl look like that there will be howls of anguish.
For the purple legionnaire, I think it might be Shikari due to the costume (I can't think of any other legionnaires that a starfield would work for). My other first thought was Drura. Then I had a thought that might cause a bit of rage, what if it's Shrinking Violet?
Shrinking Violet is being bandied about as well as Infectious Lass. Hopefully, when Previews comes out tomorrow, we'll get some better ideas. This does bring us up to 14 full designs seen (including Wildfire and mystery guy from the Superman cover).
I still count over 50 for the mystery group.
Based on my numbers -
4. Purple Mystery Girl 5. Starboy 7. Mon-El 10. Light Lass 14. Superman Cover Mystery Boy 20. Blok 24. Sun Boy 25. Shadow Lass 30. Lightning Lad 31. Cosmic Boy 39. Wildfire 41. Chameleon Boy 48. Brainiac 5 50. Saturn Girl
That means there's likely going to be a Bouncing Boy, Gates, Dawnstar/Quetzal, Guy with multiple limbs & Biron or other centaur.
...so they HAVE said that it's possible that the past Legion stories DID happen?
Look I mean guys I've mainly been upset about this because I thought it would've wrecked the plans I had for Legion stories, and I still don't like those designs but if there's room to say the Johnsboot, and therefore the Reboot and Threeboot Legions, weren't just wiped out, I can live with that.
I still don't trust Bendis. I'll look, but I don't know if I feel comfortable enough to support it. I don't trust anyone they would've used as long as Didio and Harras still have control.
