Comic books written by Mark Millar.

SAPBM,

If you had to choose between a fancy/schmancy "graphic novel" and a humble little digest-format comic, both with the same page count of 96, which would you buy?

Hatred and cruelty.

Invisible Brainiac. I will make him work tease

SAPBM,

The Fantastic Four’s powers are based on the four elements - earth, air, fire, and water. What 4 DC heroes would you use for the 4 elements as a super group?

Now I'm scared tongue

Earth: Terra III (young and idealistic)
Air: Cyclone (legacy, brainy though not completely in scientific sense)
Fire: Fire (more experienced, some black ops/government experience too)
Water: Tsunami (has the most experience)

Also a nice multi-cultural / multi-ethnic team.

SAPBM,

you're given a free six-month tour of religious sites around the world. But you have to choose one religion (i.e. if you choose Catholic, you only visit Catholic churches). Which one do you choose?

Buddhist. (Just being shrewd here, as I know it would match up with most of the places I've always dreamed of seeing.)

A lot of countries with Buddhist majorities are stunning smile (Thailand, Myanmar... Nepal has some great Buddhist ruins too)

It's cold and windy, but thankfully not raining. Boy, I'm tired though. was thinking of having some wine on my apartment building's rooftop but I think I will doze off soon.

Scooby-Doo Movies. I thought it was hilarious that they had so many guest stars from both real life and other cartoons.

Halloween. Every year for the last few years, I've meant to go out in costume, only to lose my nerve. Perhaps this year will be the one?

Carrie.

I haven't watched movie. But Carrie, I could relate to her poor outcast status. and being punished for not doing anything wrong, but simply because of who she is...

Of all time? Wow.

Well...the first one that came to mind was New Mutants Annual 2, where Cypher and Warlock are the last heroes standing against Mojo. Beautiful Alan Davis art, and my girl Amara comes off really well. Also, Chris Claremont's story is more relevant than ever in this age of messed-up former child stars. So...yeah, New Mutants Annual 2.

SAPBM,

Favorite comic book (could be a single issue, a mini-series, or a run on a monthly series) drawn by Alan Davis?

Alan Dvis has had some beautiful covers for the Reboot-era Legion, but I can't think of a single interior he drew (I may be wrong).

I'll go with JLA: The Nail. I thought it had a nice message to it. And it did show how important Superman is as an inspiration. Now, whether his importance is overstated is another debate entirely.

Favorite single Legion issue, mini or story?

Going to be controversial here.

LSH v4 #38 "Requiem" from 5YL era

Whatever you might think of the increasing death and destruction in the 5YL period (and this was certainly one to cap it off, topped only by the final End of an Era with the whole universe going) I found the execution of this story extremely well done. Made me cry. The followup issue showing how everyone tried to deal with the trauma was also brilliant.

Uplifting? Not really and yet what I found of the darkness of the 5YL era was that sometimes that was when the Legion shone out the most.

I'm tempted to say LSH v4 38 as well. I thought that the destruction of Earth came out of nowhere. On the other hand, I admired how it did make me feel (I cried!) and how well it was executed. And if I remember right, the issue even alluded to how much of a surprise it was, and how crushing it must have been; freeing Earth after a long struggle only to have it literally blow up in everyone's face.

Another one was the DC One Million tie-in, which came after Zero Hour and before the Threeboot. I didn't quite like the story because it was a bit too "weird" for me. And I wasn't too happy about how some Legion worlds/species evolved 1 million years in the future. But, I did appreciate the boldness and creativity, and the story itself was done pretty well. I guess what I didn't like about it was seeing how the Legion's legacy was not as strong as I had hoped.

Same comment about LSH v4 Annual 7, the Legends of the Dead Earth tie-in.

I wouldn’t say the whole story but the death of Sun Boy in the last Legion series. It makes sense that in a crash someone would die. Phantom Girl turning coward does not.

Who would you cast for Lightning Lad, Cosmic Boy, and Saturn Girl?

Kinetix (never have to buy new clothes or furniture again as I can just repair / alter the ones I have; let me lift heavy objects etc...)
Veilmist (teleports like Gates, but with a much easier to control power as she teleports discrete objects rather than anything in a teleport disk)
Computo (extremely useful as technology advances; can do much of my work for me and keep me hidden; can be used to break into the tech industry and earn me $$$$$!)
Princess Projectra (when combined with Gates' and Kinetix's and Computo's powers, would let me travel anywhere! also useful for everyday chores)
Triad (added to the above, would let me keep a day job and secret identity while traveling around too smile )

I like the one I have now. It isn’t mindless, but not too taxing. I get to use my customer service skills. And at quitting time I can leave it behind.

SAPBM,

Super strength, super speed, invisibility, telepathy, flight, etc.are powers lots of people would like to have. But what silly, weak, kind of useless super power in a comic would you wouldn’t mind having? (It has to be a power a character actually has. No making up a power)

Matter-Eater Lad's (or Calorie Queen's)! ability to eat anything. Ok, let's go with Tenzil so I don't have the strength.

I would never go hungry again; and I could save tons on food. And I'm guessing that Tenzil's power comes with the ability to not get any sort of disease that is orally transmitted too, and maybe some other immune system perks. Hm, story idea...

Well, it is a character I created, but I created him here over 10 years ago: Time-Teller Lad's power to tell what time it is anywhere in the universe.

What the heck. Same question.

Arm-Fall-Off Boy in the version where he still had control over the arms when they left him. (i think one of them could do that, or am I thinking of someone else?)

Yesterday I had to crawl under the house to check the floorboards. Imagine how much easier it would have been if I could have just sent one of my arms with a phone/camera and watched the result on a screen while waiting outside.
