On reflection I would like to add some clarification to one answer, which was technically correct but could be misleading.



Let's replace this with:

She is sometimes referred to by a code name but her identity is public knowledge and she is more often seen in that public identity.

There. Is that more confusing?

The Justice League member this character was commonly associated with: was this Justice Leaguer a male?

Were her super powers temporary?

Yes male.

In her first appearance it was thought so but they turned out to be permanent (or rather the change to her metabolism was permanent but the expression of that as super powers was intermittant but controllable.)

Is the Justice League member one of the original seven members?

Does this League member typically wear a cape?

Hmmm. Depends which JL origin you are thinking of. If you are thinking of the pre-crisis version then yes. However post crisis no. In fact much of the time that this character (who is a post-crisis character) interacted with the future League member was before they joined the League, but the occasional interaction has continued. Clear? (Ha!)
