Thanks for the kind words, all! I appreciate the positive response to that XS scene. I will say that when laying it out, despite the fact that it would have been easier graphically to place Jenni's word balloon on top, it would have been a disservice to both her and Kid Q to have XS take off before getting word from Kid Q. Both to Kid Q's leadership and XS's teamwork, especially since Timberwolf had just been shown to act proactively against orders. Making sure that XS was responding to Kid Q's order meant that they were in sync rather than XS taking it upon herself. I've avoided commenting on the story so far but that's just one little nuance that I try to take into consideration and honestly, just makes it so much fun for me. There's a reason that after spending 8 hours drawing stuff for my day job that I can't wait to do more drawing and it means a lot that this is appreciated by fellow Legion fans. Much, much more to come!

oops, double-post.
I guess I'll also add that the Daxamites are not only based on that terrible Dev-Em who blew up the moon, they were based on Zod's crew - leader, big guy, woman and kid.
More answers as to the real, real threat are coming in the next posting. (psst - it's not the Red Lanterns)

Great work Drake! Reading this has reminded me of one of my favorite things about the Legion - having so many members on the team always leads to unique and interesting combinations of characters.
I don't think there's ever been a comic printed where Jazmin, Mon, Brin, Jenni, Xao, Dev and Rond interacted before and it's so fun to read.

As a writer, that's indeed one of my favorite things is to look at characters who always interact with each other (Dirk and Thom, Jo, Tinya, Shady and Mon, Drake and Dawny) and to try to switch it up and put them in scenes with some Legionnaires outside of their usual circle, just to see how they bounce off each other.

Set, I totally agree. Dev and Rond were both there mostly because I like them, but then also to advance the plot, but I began to love their interplay -- nerd/rogue, scientist/spy, team player/loner and then the fact that Rond is with Laurel and that drives Dev nuts because that just makes zero sense to him and his sense of masculinity. They're not even Legionnaires, but it just happened that I love writing them together. Throwing in XS as the douse of cold water just makes it more fun. (it was originally going to be Ayla in a more snarky way but having XS be polite and just honest and upbeat made it a more fun contrast to Dev, whose easy-goingness is really more a facade)

Wonderful, Drake, the pefect way to start the day with some new panels from your story.
The colours are so vibrant! Can't say I didn't smile at that one Xanthu panel... and a great heart-stopping moment for Zoe.

As Kinetix's #1 fan, I can say you've got her personality down pat... and great use of her powers!
OMEGA????? And multiple Wildfire... what has happened to Blok and White Witch then?
And Atmos??? so much happening in that page!!!
Vi shouting for Yera?
And the happenings with the Red Lanterns...!
Amazing as usual!

Update: I've been wanting to get working on this some more, and I had a few pages "in the can" before the pandemic hit, but it's been difficult lately, having lost my job then the pandemic making it difficult to focus on anything other than finding work I can do remotely, etc.... Then the recent civil unrest here in the U.S. makes writing a story about a hate-based villain spreading rage and hate just hits too close to home and seems irrelevant compared to what's going on. Anyway... I hope to find the motivation soon. Spoilers, the good guys do win, so maybe working on it will be cathartic. (although that happy ending is still a while aways...)

Sorry to hear about your work troubles, Drake. It definitely is tough being creative normally, and especially when you don't have much motivation due to external factors. Most good stories take time, after all. Wishing you the best, stay safe.

Happy to hear you haven't abandoned it (and the positive ending, which I didn't doubt). Sorry you got hit by the Covid fallout, which seems to be worse than the virus for most people.

Just wanted to reiterate the support of the others Drake. As Ibby says, it can be tough enough to do creative things when everything's going smoothly. This...well... All the best.

Go Imra!
Waking up to that Dante-esque vista would shock and scare most folk but she's made of sterner stuff and gets straight down to it.
Iron-butt to the rescue 😊
Thanks for posting this Drake, gorgeous work as always.
