Would your character be comfortable in more science fiction stories as opposed to super hero ones? Maybe more comfortable, but that's not where they'd typically be found.

Here's a hint:
This character (or versions of the character) has died on three separate occasions. On one of them, she is killed by her love interest. In another death, she dies in a car accident.

There aren't many characters who didn't debut prior to Crisis and yet guest-starred in DC Comics Presents. it's a helpful hint, but I'm not familiar with the series.

I've looked at the covers of Crisis-era issues and annuals of DCCP, and I can't even figure out which character your character is romantically-linked to! Are you sure you haven't overlooked some exclusionary factoid in either character's list?

All of this refers to the DCCP guest star your character is romantically-linked with, right?
--was introduced in a issue of DC Comics Presents that featured a single character as guest-star rather than a group
a. this guest star did not debut prior to Crisis on Infinite Earths
b. has been a super-hero
c. has had a romantic connection with the character
d. has never been a member of the Justice League or the Titans or any other hero team, and has never been involved with the Justice League Task Force.
e. has spent significant amounts of time away from Earth
f. has powers beyond those of a normal human being
g. could sort of be considered a legacy hero, but not exactly.
h. is not an Earth-born human being, but resembles one.
i. is not originally from the Earth-1 universe

Well, examining the clue about the DCCP guest star having been a single one and not part of a group, then we don't have any single guest star who debuted after April 1985. Ambush Bug, Adam Strange, Swamp Thing, Supergirl, Superboy-Prime, Creeper, Captain Comet, Adrian Chase, Hawkman, Blue Devil and Superwoman all pre-date CoIE as far as I know!

Okay, I have to plead guilty that I thought that character debuted before CoIE. My faulty memory had him debuting prior to that because his world had been around a long time. I now know the answer but will give others a chance. Hopefully, this will help the other participants!

I looked up a list of DCCP characters too, trying to use stock knowledge (no further research) to figure out who fit the clues
but all of them seem pre-COIE to me too, i can remember many of them appearing in COIE itself...
and the ones i’m not sure of, i don’t remember having love interests who fit the clues
