Dean, have you done any sequential work? I really like your design and pose work, but I'd be very interested to see what your complete storytelling is like.

Gail, I have a whopping total of 31 finished sequential pencils in my portfolio, all for indy comics that haven't yet seen the light of day. I also have a zillion pages of rough sequentials (young Jim Shooter style writing). I'd be happy to show any of the above. Thank you very much for the compliment on the drawings I've posted around here at Legion World. Your story and its characters have definitely inspired me to do some sketchin'!

Heh! "The Bikinis that Baffled the Legion" A classic, really.....

DEAN!! That is the best Violet I've seen yet - her looks match the tough lady/no ego character she's had since DnA's run - the books artists have still been drawing her as shy Vi, and I really don't think she is anymore...

The kiss scenes were great, too - the way you added Devil - in the book she just walks away, here she's berating Canary and enjoying it - also liked the way Canary is reaching out with her hands, before and after - unsure of herself? or trying to sense some energy pattern?

Thanks, FC! It's kind of hard to figure Vi out, because the writers don't seem to give her much dialogue. However, I see her as being one of those girls who's really beautiful and sexy but she doesn't even know it and she definitely doesn't try to be. I think she's very confident on a physical level, especially ever since she's gotten more comfortable going giant. I just think she doesn't like to talk much. I know people like that.

I definitely thought Devil would have stuck around to watch Canary do her work on Nura, somewhat sadistically. She'd know that Canary would be somewhat attracted to Nura, but would feel guilty taking advantage of her drugged up state. Devil would have to prod Canary along. Meanwhile, even though Canary feels guilty, she can't resist Nura, so she still goes for it, but wants to be gentle, careful. That's what I meant to convey with the hands.

I've been enjoying this story, so it's inspired me to do more sketching than normal. It's been fun.

Bummer, all the art that was here was hosted by a site that no longer exists.

Sigh.

Oh well, this was a fond memory anyway.
