81. Runaways. Better perspective and the chance the reader will be squished.
82. Martin & Lewis. The inflation gag is fine, but M&L splits the cover nicely and is more visual.
83. Our Love. Swampy just has standing figures. Our love wins for the Men in White.
84. Howie. Patsy and pal are in on the gag with the reader. Howie and pal have other things on their mind.

81. Runaways - perspective works and the blank eyes in the centre of the page stand out. Papercutter is curious, but doesn't meld together.
82. Martin & Lewis - better joke, good facial expressions. What's with the safari hats on Laugh?
83. Swamp Thing - for the background and the absence of text. Make up your own words based on the title. The anonymous hands on each person's shoulder on Our Love is pretty good, though. Parents? Spouses? Swamp Things?
84. Howie - Patsy and Hedy look like they belong on Vault of Horror. Howie presents a light and colourful scene, with some early purple punk hair.

81. RUNAWAYS. Molly is great and the wonky perspective is interesting, but it's just OK for me. Papercutter is a no because that bottom border just DOES NOT GO.
82. MARTIN & LEWIS While I can dig the "old-fashioned prices" bit on Laugh, it's a bit clunky. M&L also better at directing the eye.
83. OUR LOVE STORY.
84. HERE'S HOWIE. Crames is right. What's with that dark dept store and the doll section? That's at least 2 Twilight Zone episodes.

85. Outsiders - the monochrome is a bit dull (and orange!), but the image is more coherent. Don't really go for the multiple scenes on Titans.
86. The Question - Not only is he falling fast, there's a loose thread on his coat and the window is cracked. Must be wearing a tie clip, though. Nice details. Despite the drama, Dr. Fate and the bridge seem like they should be two separate covers.
87. X-Men - they're all looking at something but not at the reader, and not all at the same thing. Curious. Wolf & Byrd is pretty busy, but I like the hand reaching up from the grave for the business card.
88. Superman - not a big fan of either, but an aversion to apes gives Superman the win.Good look on the kid's face. The high heel brown boots with grey hot pants is just wrong.

85. Teen Titans. I'm not a big fan of either, art-wise. Titans gets the win due to the text being part of the jigsaw (albeit a pretty squiggly one) that forms the rest of the cover.
86. Doctor Fate. I felt like ducking to avoid being thumped by fate. So that's a win.
87. Wolff & Byrd. We just had a cover with a gravedigger and the horror of hands bursting through the earth. Handing the returned person a business card is an excellent twist on that type of cover. I'm sure the staring contest in X-Men was a fine issue too.
88. Superman. Tough to decide this one. Devil is a bit cluttered and Maggie Sawyer has just broken her kid's leg on Superman. Both city scapes are good. Devil has a gorilla, so that's worth points on a DC cover as is the Kong reprise. Devil looks to be more fun, with Supes going for a horror vibe. But Supes wins for the villain almost framing the top part of the cover. I'm wondering if it could have come down to sit behind the logo, but that might have been too far.

87. WOLFF & BYRD. The card transfer is great! So is the tilt.

89. Harley Quinn - It's chaotic, but goes well with her frame of mind.
90. Heroes for Hire - Punisher colours too dull
91. GI Joe - more drama and I wonder if losing the two small figures would have made it better.
92. Hawkeye - unusual cover. Well, so is Guardians, but I can't tell if it's one of those vinyl tablecloths or a peculiar slot machine.
93. Hunter - prefer the composition of the group, with its sense of forward movement and high emotion.
94. Firestorm, by default - although the purple guys blend into a mass, Firestorm stands out; X-Factor has too much dull-colour sameness.
95. Amazing Spiderman - X-Men looks prettier, but the three mechanical arms are more intriguing.
96. The Bunker - muted colours, looks like the guy sure needs that drink. Age of Bronze colours grate, not to mention what looks like baby sacrifice.

89. DC Super Friends - For the suggestion that it's The Riddler they need help from.
90. Heroes for Hire - The skulls are particularly well done ones.
91. Little Lulu - Cobra has people crouching or walking and possibly Doll Man. But Lulu has a gag, and it's a funny one.
92. Guradians - Fun and Games may lead very nicely into Hawkeye's story. But I don't know that, so I'm going for racoon heads!
93. Hunter. Grayson is too posing, while Hunter reminds us of all the horrid little groups out there in the world. That carries a much more visceral threat than the Robins ever will.
94. Firestorm - Mainly for the nostalgia of Multiplex before he moved into the cinema business. Hydra would be more threatening if it ever won something.
95. Spiderman - Doc Occ at breakfast reading his paper is an excellent cover.
96. Age of Bronze - not because there's not many child sacrifice comics on the racks, but because it took me ages to figure out that there wasn't an upside down head staring at the glass, but a reflection. Incidentally, the kid wees on the bearded guy who then stumbles blindly into a fire thus giving their happy god a nice sacrifice. Just in case anyone out there was concerned.

89. DC SUPER FRIENDS. Maybe If I knew the HQ characters it would be more compelling. I'm going the the bolder Super Friends.

91. COBRA. Lu is cute. But I'm interested in what's going on over on the other.
92. GUARDIANS. I winder if the Hawkeye cover was confusing for newer readers -- or maybe the word search was so unusual it attracted eyeballs.
93. HUNTER. It's creepier, anyway.
94. X-FACTOR. Yes, Firestorm is set off by his opponent/s, but how well Madrox fits in with Hydra is how it wins.
95. ASM ANNUAL. DOC OCK'S MUG!! Now I want to know how the cover fits with the contents.

97. She Hulk. Zaps logo stands out, but the whole of She Hulk's background pops.
98. Micronauts. The use of the villains as a backdrop to the logo I mentioned for the Superman cover is done really well here. The crouching reactions of the heroes to the threat from above stops it eing too cluttered. The FF cover gets better with each look. Interesting perspective, well placed characters, action and now I see why that Android is creepy. But I'm voting on my first impression.
99. Heroic. A spiffily dressed hero, made of music flies out of a bell to bop a villain on the nose. I want to know more.
100. Boy Meets Girl. The realism of the art gets the win. I've always thought the couple are a out to kill the old man who's discovered them.

97. She-Hulk - Zap makes me nauseous, She-Hulk figures stand out against the dizzy background
98. Micronauts - the white background separates villains (all dark purple & blue) and heroes (colours!) nicely. Besides, it says it's the Best New Comic, so who am I to argue with such confidence?
99. Regl'lar Fellers Heroic - a dapper white-suited guy defending the Liberty Bell vs Dr. Bong (surely a headcase. Oh, I just saw his bell head. I thought it was the other kind of bong): no contest.
100. Boy Meets Girl - I don't think those two give a fig about Dad's concern with the time discrepancy. They do look shifty. Devil horns, nice touch. Must have been intentional although I didn't pick up on it. Promises a more interesting story than cancelled Major Bummer.

101. Busy busy busy busy - but I'll go with Metamorpho for the sense of speed and the eyestalk hat? head?
102. Jaguqr - the beastie on Sub Mariner takes up too much space.
103 - Gen 13 - nice light and shadow effect. The random green cut-aways don't appeal & the figure in brown gets lost against the black.
104. Sugar & Spike - cute as they always are. Too many disembodied pink images on Doctor Who.

101. Metamorpho. Another good match up, but I just can't get past one crook having a "liquid fire" thrower next to the tnt guy. Madness. Metamorpho's higher logo allows for a less cluttered look. Despite the silly alien, Rex piops out of another place to bop it. Hey! You want to know when Armageddon is/ It's now baby! 102. Jaguar. That central point draws in the eye and those bright colours are attention grabbing too. Tentacle Alien looks as though its quite grabby also. There's always some guy who gets drunk, strips off and has a fight on Dragon day. Most years it's Namor. 103. G.I. Joe I don't know if the shards are being thrown away or are dropping onto the character. But it's a better view than some pics on a table. It's not going to top All-Star Squadron #1. 104. Doctor Who. Gibbens work stands out more in the full view, but there's something quaint about a hero in a galaxy of killers wielding a cricket bat. As usual, I could care tuppence for the survival of Sugar and Spike on all those pots. But if they think about forcing the dog to eat, then they're for it. Little creeps. 102. SUBMARINER. Jaguar's pearl radiance thing an inteesting idea, but doesn't quite work for me. Submariner is absolutely nothing new -- hero slugging monster -- but makes it all about that. Well, okay!
103. GI JOE has more eye appeal. I've seen the Gen 13 cover thing many times.
104. SUGAR AND SPIKE. So maybe I have a fondness for rambunctious tots.

105. Young Liars. It wins for the eye witness to the crime. It loses points for the guitar/gun combo. Bats might have won if the whole cover had been devoted to Grayson and Brand. But Bats has to hog space.
106. JLoA. The FF would get picked up for its heroes in bottles and duplicate heri combo. But the League cover gets to show everyone in action. That's a lot tougher to pull off. The Statue begins to realise that the vibrating Flash might not be what it first appeared to be.
107. Warlock. While Grayson has some imminent action, and gets points for the small logo and close up, I just much prefer the art on Warlock.
108. Mister Miracle shows in the cover not the logo. There's the plus of knowing that Scott should be the last person stuck in there.
