Vodka. It's my answer to 2017 so far

Of course, homemade apricot ice cream with toasted almonds is all well and good, but... I miss booze.

Bah! I was playing drinking games last night and forgot to post here!

I'm a little bit afraid to post when I'm drunk.

Well that's why you use the alcohol to help you loosen up, right?

Yes, well, that didn't work.
It's been an anxious weekend - setting up the new apartment and some other stuff going on -- VODKA.

Well I do think this is the safest place to post while drunk

Just so long as you've pulled the car over and turned the lights on first.

I should post while drunk more often. The likelihood of me embarrassing myself is lower than when using Facebook while drunk.

No one here would be reading posts sober, so that would help.

Then... then... all the posters who say they don't drink are LYING?

Not at all. That's a harsh word to use. All of the posters who say they aren't drinking are telling the truth because:-

1) They are lying on the floor, making a last post before passing out and are therefore not drinking at that moment.
2) It can be hard to post and drink at exactly the same time.
3) Their glass is empty and they're just waiting for someone to bring them another round from the bar.

Well, you know, the simplest explanation also is that some posters drink - but they don't drink alcohol, they drink non-alcoholic liquids.

Because the alcohol selling shops/ pubs are shut?

Yes, let's go with that.

Still pretty much on the one-drink-a-month plan here. There's some lovely dry cider in the fridge, but.. NO, NO! I must save June's drink card for my birthday. [grits teeth] Must... avoid... kitchen...

Jeez.. I don't even remember how this cliffhanger turned out.

Anyway, the 1st was mr_cleome's birthday and I only had a mocktail at the restaurant (out in the open air thankyouverymuch). It was a very good one, too.

We'll see what happens on my own Big (Fri)Day a couple of weeks from now.



[ETA- Now that I'm not supposed to drink AND I'm on so many meds that clearing a window for a good buzz is basically impossible, all I can say is, "Thank Heaven for legal weed." ]
