Situated in the Legion headquarters, the Hall of Heroes holds statues of the many fallen legends who have sacrificed themselves to save the universe, planets, loved ones and freedom.
Here's a look at the last moments of those Legionnaires who have departed. Some have returned from the dead, while others weren't quite as dead as originally suspected. But all were willing to give their lives for the ideals of the Legion.

January 1963, Lightning Lad, Adventure Comics 304, Garth was struck by a freeze ray from Zaryan the Conqueror's invasion ship.

July 1963, Ultra Boy, Shrinking Violet, Chameleon Boy, Triplicate Girl, Element Lad, Phantom Girl, Colossal Boy, Invisible Kid, Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5, Lightning Lass, Sun Boy, Bouncing Boy, Mon-El , Adventure Comics 310, Feeling humiliated by the Legion during his attempt to raid Metropolis, Mask Man vows to kill everyone on the team. He proceeds to do just that, leaving Superboy as the sole survivor. Superboy discovers that Mask Man is Mxyzptlk. Upon banishing the villain everything returns to the way it was before his arrival. Note that Bouncing Boy and Sun Boy are considered to have been killed off panel, as Superboy is depicted as being the sole survivor. Star Boy is on the splash page, but does not appear in the story. However, "others" are mentioned beyond those named in a ship explosion. He could have been there. January 1966, Triplicate Girl, Adventure 340, Luornu's first body was killed by Computo, as she was escaping from an computer controlled Legion HQ.

February 1967, Ferro Lad, Adventure 353, Andrew detonated a bomb, destroying the Sun Eater at the cost of his life. Andrew’s death was foreshadowed in Adventure 351 (December 1966). His statue in the time of the Adult Legion (Adventure 354 March 1967) read “Ferro Lad: Who gave his life that the galaxy might live.” March 1967, Shadow Woman, Foreshadowed in Adventure Comics 354, In the time of the Adult Legion stories, her statue will read “Shadow Woman: Who died saving the science asteroid.” March 1967, Quantum Queen, Foreshadowed in Adventure Comics 354, In the time of the Adult Legion stories, her statue will read “Quantom [sic] Queen: Perished preventing an escape from Cosmos Prison” March 1967, UnknownAdventure 354 foreshadowed the deaths of Ferro Lad, Chemical King, “Quantom” Queen, Reflecto, Shadow Woman, Power Boy and at least three others.

January 1970, Mon El, Action 384, Lar died from lead poisoning, ironically in an effort by his cousin Eltro Gand to kidnap and replace him to avoid a prophecy of Lar's death.

June 1977, Chemical King, SBoy 228, Condo absorbed the energy of Deregon’s cosmic energy sphere, saving much of the Earth from devastation and the rest from World War VII. Condo’s death was foreshadowed in Adventure 354 (March 1967). His statue in the time of the Adult Legion read “Chemical King: He sacrificed his life to prevent World War VII.”

April 1981, Ultra Boy, LoSH 274, Jo as blasted into seemingly nothing by Pulsar Stargrave as the team looked to clear Brainiac Five's murder charge. He had simply been transported, but again seemed to perish in the blast of a Quintile Crystal powered energy cannon in June 1981's LoSH 276 (picture on the right).

November 1984, Karate Kid, LoSH v3 4, Val flew into a power sphere, destroying the plans of the LSV after suffering injuries at the hands of Nemesis Kid.

October 1985, Supergirl, Crisis 7, Kara saved her cousin Superman, destroyed machines that were destructively merging five universes, but died from injuries sustained in conflict with the Anti-Monitor. [

January 1986 Superboy/ Superman, Insect Queen, Elastic Lad, Pete Ross, Super Pets, Crisis 10, Kal, Lana, Jimmy, Pete and all the Super Pets were removed from existence upon the rebirth of the Universe. Kara and possibly Gnill are also removed from existence.

September 1986 Mentalla, LoSH v3 26, Having been rejected for Legion membership, Delya infiltrated the Fatal Five. She was discovered and killed by the Emerald Empress. September 1987, Superboy, LoSH v3 38, Kal died saving his pocket universe and transporting the Legion back to their own time and universe.

February 1988, Laurel Kent, LoSH v3 43, Laurel was revealed as a robotic agent of the Manhunters. She self destructed when her mission to stop the chosen of the Guardians failed. June 1988, The Wanderers, Wanderers 1, Celebrand, Quantum Queen, Psyche, Dartalg, Immorto, Elvo and Ornitho were killed by monsters spawned by the mutated offspring of a Controller and his cloned wife. Note that the March 1967 issue showed Quantum Queen as a statue in the Legion Hall of Heroes. That statue may not have been the first time the character had died. September 1988, Duo Damsel, LoSH v3 50, Luornu's second body was killed by the Time Trapper at the end of time.

Five Year Gap, Reflecto, Revealed in 2995 Sourcebook, Stig was poisoned in a duel with the Molecule Master during investigations that would lead to the Black Dawn incident at Earth’s sun. Stig’s death was foreshadowed in Adventure 354 (March 1967). His statue in the time of the Adult Legion read “Reflecto: Killed in a duel with the Molecule Master.”

February 1991, Nightwind, LoSH v4 15, Berta was shot during a Khund attack on Xolnar. April 1991, Power Boy, LoSH v4 17, Jed was killed fighting against the Khunds on Xolnar. Power Boy’s death was foreshadowed in Adventure 354 (March 1967), where a statue was seen by Superman in a garden setting. April 1991, Tornado Twins, LoSH v4 17, Don and Dawn were executed by Dominator controlled Earthgov, following their arrest for supporting the resistance or in revenge against Iris West for her working in exposing the Dominators.
