Thanks to Quis for calling and closing the last thread smile

Yet Another Kill This Thread!

The following rules were established by Kent at the start of the first 24-hour version, adapted from the original rules by EDE:

The rules:

1. The Basic Idea: Post to this thread, if no one posts after you for 24 hours, you win!

2. Posts that are not direct responses to one of the five preceding posts are ineligible to win. The topic can drift, but no complete non-sequitors. Posts that are responses to non-sequitors are also ineligible to win. Posts that are responses to responses to non-sequitors, and responses to those posts, etc., become eligible, however.

3. In the event that this thread is locked, there shall be no winner unless a new thread is started for the contest. Furthermore, any post that results in the banning of the poster shall also be ineligible to win.

4. So, more precisely, one wins if one makes a post, and then no one makes another post that's eligible to win for 24 hours.

Okay, time to kill!

I - walkwithcrowds (7-day version)
II - none
III - none
IV - Quislet, Esq
V - Rockhopper Lad (the first 24-hour version)
VI - Rockhopper Lad
VII - cleome
VIII - Rockhopper Lad
IX - Rockhopper Lad
X - none
XI - none
XII - none
XIII - Invisible Brainiac
XIV - Invisible Brainiac
XV - Invisible Brainiac

Hmmm...perhaps Ibby is more Querl's Computo-and-Omega-creating shadow-self than sweet, sunny Lyle?? hmmm

Lyle has often been snooty and sarcastic. At least in the Reboot.

And don't get me started on the Threeboot version!

So if I am following what you are trying to say, Threeboot should have been actually been given the proverbial boot?

For some reason I keep hearing that as a pop song by Lady Gaga.

Threeboot was given the boot...
For some reason I don't give a hoot...
Maybe I should but...
I just can't seem to not say just say whoot!

I can imagine us dancing to it while wearing raw meat.

I once went to a French restaurant where I was told by a manager to order the raw venison. Then he wanted the lamb neck. Needless to say I want to another restaurant after that dinner.

I'm not much of a meat eater at all, though I am not a vegetarian.

And you can always tell when I'm a way from LW. Ibby kills a thread.

The cartoon The Funky Phantom

The voice of Mudsy was provided by Daws Butler and was identical to his voice work for Snagglepuss, down to the use of Snagglepuss's catchphrases, (In turn, that voice was an impersonation of actor Bert Lahr.)

We were cold and soaking wet, and lost out in a storm
We went inside a spooky house, just hoping to get warm
A funky clock said half past six, we knew that it was wrong
But when we set the hands to twelve, the clock began to ..
(Bong!)

(Whooo!)

"It's a Funky Phantom!"

"The spirit of 1776 even. At your service"

We found a friend, friend, friend, in Funky Phantom
He'll pop right in just when you need him most
And Boo will too, and you can't do without them
That cat and that funky phantom ghost.

"It's Funky Phantom Time!"

Ex-Monkee Micky Dolenz played the character Skip on The Funky Phantom.

I do a fair-to-middling Davy Jones impersonation singing the Monkees' "Daydream Believer" at karaoke.

Peter (to Marcia):
I got it! Take this down. 'To Davy Jones. Dear Sir, you have just won a 10 million dollar sweepstakes. For information, contact Marcia Brady at...'

Greg:
What's that got to do with singing at the prom?

Peter:
Nothing, but it would sure get his attention.

Davy Jones' locker is a real thing. In Pirates of the Caribbean anyway.

Well if Davy Jones of the Monkees ever went to gym, I am sure he had a locker.

John Paul Jones's body was ceremonially removed from interment in a Parisian charnel house and brought to the United States aboard the USS Brooklyn (CA-3), escorted by three other cruisers. On approaching the American coastline, seven U.S. Navy battleships joined the procession escorting Jones's body back to America. On April 24, 1906, Jones's coffin was installed in Bancroft Hall at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, following a ceremony in Dahlgren Hall, presided over by President Theodore Roosevelt who gave a lengthy tributary speech. On January 26, 1913, the Captain's remains were finally re-interred in a magnificent bronze and marble sarcophagus at the Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis
