Eight was the threshold and I think the highest vote-getter was 6 (unless three or more new people vote before the deadline).

This. Is. Intense. (Surprisingly so) This round always is, in all the Idols I have run Based on the votes I do not think anyone is close to geting 75%. I'll do a quick count later today, and if it seems unlikely anyone will make it I will close the round today instead of tomorrow.

Like Dave said, Jay had to get the last two votes, and ended up with neither of them.
Good round though. I do like how it differs to the previous wildcard round, by setting that threshold. Really enjoying a lot of the tough decisions in this one.

Dave and thoth are correct. Highest vote getter had only 6/10 points. I crunched some numbers, and to reach 75%, this character would need to get 6 more YES votes and no NOs from the next 6 voters - that would give 12/16, or 75%.
And so...
ROUND 9 ENDS!
As thoth said, I really love this special Wild Card format. It always gives interesting results.
When we did this in JLA Idol, both Atom (Ray Palmer) and Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond) only got 9/14 YESes, they would have needed 15/20 to make it through.
In Titans Idol, it was Flamebird who made like a phoenix; she got through this round and finished in 3rd place.
In Multiverse Legion Idol, Retroboot Tyroc also returned in this round to make a Top 13; he would finish at a respectable 7th.
But here, nobody makes it through... (Infinity Inc.) Northwind - 0 ( 0% ) (Justice Society) Cyclone - 1 ( 10% ) (Justice Society) Stargirl - 1 ( 10% ) (All-Star Squadron) Captain Marvel Jr. (Earth-S) - 2 ( 20% ) (All-Star Squadron) Sargon the Sorceror - 3 ( 30% ) (Justice Society) Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders) - 3 ( 30% ) (Justice Society) Hourman (Rex Tyler) - 3 ( 30% ) (Justice Society) Power Girl - 3 ( 30% ) (Justice Society) Sand/Sandman (Sanderson Hawkins) - 3 ( 30% ) (Squadron of Justice) Bulletgirl - 3 ( 30% ) (All-Star Squadron) Amazing Man (Will Everett) - 4 ( 40% ) (All-Star Squadron) Firebrand (Danette Reilly) - 4 ( 40% ) (Freedom Fighters) Plastic Man - 4 ( 40% ) (Justice Society) Spectre (Jim Corrigan) - 4 ( 40% ) (Justice Society) Flash (Jay Garrick) - 6 ( 60% )
Interesting results, definitely. I guess at this point, most of us would rather protect our remaining favorites still in the game.

Round 10 Begins!Home stretch, folks. With only 7 left on the list, we're going down to 5! Pick 4 characters from the list and rank them 1-5. Points will be given as follows: Rank Points 1 - 40 2 - 15 3 - 5 4 - 1 House Rules1) Each round will last 24-48 hours. I will try to end each round at the same time, but this won't always be possible because of work. 2) I'll vote at the start of every round to minimize bias on my part. 3) I don't encourage editing of votes; it's a smart tactic but may be unfair for those who don't get to log on as often. However, I won't disallow them either. I'll only tally votes at the end of each round (to make it easier on myself!). I'll post on this thread the minute I start tallying to alert everyone; votes that come in after that will be ignored. 4) In case of errors in the results, I'll post a correction immediately. If anyone's vote was affected by the error, that poster will be notified by PM immediately. If the poster cannot correct his/her votes before the end of the round, he/she will get a makeup point next round - a +15 bonus. This only applies to instances where I made the error, and not where the poster made an error. 5) Points will be given based on your ranking. The higher you rank a character on your list, the more points that character will get (e.g. Rank 1 gets 10 points, Rank 2 gets 9 points...) Point distributions will change per round. If characters tie, the tie will be broken by considering the total number of points characters have gotten in previous rounds. 6) Exception to the above will be the first 1-2 rounds of the game, which trim the list down considerably. Each vote will count as one point, and characters below a certain point threshold get eliminated. 7) Because several characters have the same code name, and because the list includes multiple realities, PLEASE SPECIFY which character you are voting for. In fact, as much as possible PLEASE use the exact name that I have used on the list (this will make it easier for me to tally votes using Microsoft Excel!)I won't make assumptions for votes which don't identify the character clearly. Example, if you vote for: 1) Doctor Fate 2) Cyclone 3) Star-spangled Kid 4) Green Lantern (TV: Brave and the Bold) I'll only count the votes for Cyclone and Green Lantern. I have no way of knowing if you're voting for Dr. Fate Kent Nelson vs. Dr. Fate Kent V. Nelson, or whether you're voting for Star-spangled Kid Sly Pemberton, or Courtney Whitmore (she briefly used that name)! Teams still represented:Justice Society of AmericaSSoV / Seven Soldiers of VictoryThe Top 7!(Justice Society) Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) (Justice Society) Green Lantern (Alan Scott) (Justice Society) Huntress (Helena Wayne of Earth-2) (Justice Society) Mister Terrific (Michael Holt) (Justice Society) Red Tornado (Ma Hunkle) (Justice Society) Robin (Dick Grayson of Earth-2) (SSoV) Shining Knight (Ystina)

I love it that the relatively obscure Ma Hunkle and Ystina are still in the game. I seriously considered voting for Ystina, in fact, even though I have read nothing with her in it.
E2 Robin is the only Wild Card still in the game, as well.
And only 2 Founders remain - Alan and Dr. Fate.

All the regular players have voted now. But unlike with the Wild Card, there is still a big opportunity for the results to change if someone new comes in. So, I'll keep the round open another day and end it around the usual time tomorrow.

ROUND 10 ENDS!
I think any result from this round onward would be surprising, so here goes...
(Justice Society) Green Lantern (Alan Scott) - 112 (Justice Society) Huntress (Helena Wayne of Earth-2) - 104 (Justice Society) Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) - 97 (SSoV) Shining Knight (Ystina) - 81 (Justice Society) Red Tornado (Ma Hunkle) - 80
And going home today...
(Justice Society) Robin (Dick Grayson of Earth-2) - 75 (Justice Society) Mister Terrific (Michael Holt) - 61
That brings us back to a more balanced list between the sexes.
Both of these characters were worthy contenders.

I would be very surprised if Ma Hunkle and Ystina still manage to make it through this round. But who knows?
Alan Scott manages to dethrone Helena last round! Will that carry on over to the end of the game??
Man, this is tough...
1 - (Justice Society) Red Tornado (Ma Hunkle) 2 - (Justice Society) Green Lantern (Alan Scott) 3 - (Justice Society) Huntress (Helena Wayne of Earth-2)
PS, I may have to end the round a few hours earlier on Saturday as I will be out all afternoon and evening. I might, conversely, end it a bit late instead. Let's see how it goes.

Man, Earth 2 Robin had a great run, for someone up against Jay Garrick and the Specter and so on!
At this point, it's super-easy for me, except the agony of trying to decide whether or not I want Kent Nelson or Helena Wayne to have my top vote! (I love them both!)

I thought that Mr Terrific would be the one to go through, due to his recent prominence in the JSA.
If I had to pick between the two Legacy characters, then Huntress would be the one. Robin did very well. But I always picture him in that awful wrestler/batman outfit of the JLA issues, rather than any sleek reinterpretation.

Two first place votes each saw Ma Hunkle and Ystina through last round, to one first place vote for Mr. T.
I'd also pick Huntress over Robin. Both are great, but Huntress did have the better look - and I seem to recall her having a bit more personality as well.
