Dave says they didn't conflict though so maybe I missed something? Even if they didn't though, I don't like it when new characters come along and just needlessly undermine and steal everything that was interesting and unique about another character [see also: my great dislike of Shikari].
In the interrogation issue, the analyst (later revealed to be the Sheeda Queen), lays out that Camelot is a recurring "Event" throughout history. Ystina's Camelot happened 10,000 years ago, before the Sheeda wiped out all trace of it. Justin's happened within the last millennium. So they both come from different Camelots. They played on this with the re-imagining in Demon Knights, when the New-52 Ystina boasts about being a knight of Camelot and Jason Blood and Xanadu both think she's crazy, because they never saw her before.

Quick break from hellish overtime - I do like that they were able to have both Justin and Ystina coexist within the same universe. But I am having a bit of trouble wrapping my head around the idea that there were two Camelots, which both developed along roughly the same lines around 9,000 years apart. Though from what I've read of the Sheeda, they ravage the Earth regularly every X number of years, so it does make some sort of sense that after they destroy civilization as we know it, it would evolve again along the same lines... Just another example of a Morrison idea that makes sense, yet makes my head hurt to think about! Honestly, there hadn't even been time for a religion to be built on my wisdom, never mind the resultant obligatory sex scandal. Oh, it's always time for the obligatory sex scandal! I think it depends on who is involved in the sex scandal

Another way of looking at it, is the One and Future King aspect of Arthurian Legend or whatever rex quondam rexque futurus translates as. I'm sure there are plenty of such stories out there continuing Arthurian legend. But one comic that showed it well, was Camelot 3000. Arthur and his court return in 3000, but are essentially the same. At the end we see that the legend continues again in a far off planet and civilisation. Recurring messianic figures/ archetypes, appearing in times of strife, like so many religions have.

ROUND 8 RESULTS!
Taking a long break from hellish overtime...
A slight surprise in the results, which shows that high ranks on a few lists beats low ranks on many lists...
(Justice Society) Huntress (Helena Wayne of Earth-2) - 246 (Justice Society) Green Lantern (Alan Scott) - 207 (Justice Society) Mister Terrific (Michael Holt) - 196 (Justice Society) Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) - 171 (Justice Society) Robin (Dick Grayson of Earth-2) - 162 (SSoV) Shining Knight (Ystina) - 130 (Justice Society) Red Tornado (Ma Hunkle) - 130
And going home today...[
(Justice Society) Flash (Jay Garrick) - 115 (Justice Society) Cyclone - 91 (Justice Society) Power Girl - 62
Jay was on 7/10 lists, and Kara on 5/10. But they were both bumped off by Ma Hunkle and Ystina, who were each only on 2/10 lists!
Michael Holt was only on 4/10 lists as well...
though Helena Wayne is extremely popular: 8/10 lists.
Full count of number of lists a character was on:
(Justice Society) Cyclone - 2 (Justice Society) Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) - 7 (Justice Society) Flash (Jay Garrick) - 7 (Justice Society) Green Lantern (Alan Scott) - 7 (Justice Society) Huntress (Helena Wayne of Earth-2) - 8 (Justice Society) Mister Terrific (Michael Holt) - 4 (Justice Society) Power Girl - 5 (Justice Society) Red Tornado (Ma Hunkle) - 2 (Justice Society) Robin (Dick Grayson of Earth-2) - 6 (SSoV) Shining Knight (Ystina) - 2
I have to say, I like how this format can let relatively obscure characters outlast more popular ones!

I would never have thought Alan would outlast Jay (or that PG wouldn't crack the top 5).

ROUND NINE BEGINS!!
How many times has the JSA reformed? More than once, that's for sure!
And so, I bring you...
Our second (and last!) Wild Card round!
But this is going to be much tougher than the last Wild Card...
For each of the wild card contenders, simply vote YES or NO. You can give a YES to as many characters on the list below as you want.
Any character who has 75% of players vote YES makes it back next round. (if all 10 of us play, that means 8 of us must vote YES for a character to make it in).
The Wild Card list will only include the following:
1) Characters who were eliminated from Top 15 onwards...
AND
2) Characters who received a vote during the previous Wild Card Round.
I decided to include the latter, because I know a lot of us had dear favorites who went home.
This should be an interesting exercise. When we did this in the previous Idol games, only 1 character made it back for Multiverse Legion Idol; one for Titans Idol; and none for JLA Idol!
Although, the one who made it back in Titans Idol made it all the way to the Top 3! So a word of caution again - be careful who you vote for, as that character may end up bumping off one of your other favorites!
Our 16 hopefuls:
(All-Star Squadron) Amazing Man (Will Everett) (All-Star Squadron) Captain Marvel Jr. (Earth-S) (All-Star Squadron) Firebrand (Danette Reilly) (All-Star Squadron) Sargon the Sorceror (Freedom Fighters) Plastic Man (Infinity Inc.) Northwind (Justice Society) Cyclone (Justice Society) Flash (Jay Garrick) (Justice Society) Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders) (Justice Society) Hourman (Rex Tyler) (Justice Society) Power Girl (Justice Society) Sand/Sandman (Sanderson Hawkins) (Justice Society) Spectre (Jim Corrigan) (Justice Society) Stargirl (Squadron of Justice) Bulletgirl

I've thought and thought about this. I do like a lot of characters on the list. But, there are not many whom I would want back in over my remaining favorites.
So...
(All-Star Squadron) Amazing Man (Will Everett) - NO (All-Star Squadron) Captain Marvel Jr. (Earth-S) - NO (All-Star Squadron) Firebrand (Danette Reilly) - NO (All-Star Squadron) Sargon the Sorceror - NO (Freedom Fighters) Plastic Man - NO (Infinity Inc.) Northwind - NO (Justice Society) Cyclone - YES (Justice Society) Flash (Jay Garrick) - NO (Justice Society) Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders) - NO (Justice Society) Hourman (Rex Tyler) - NO (Justice Society) Power Girl - NO (Justice Society) Sand/Sandman (Sanderson Hawkins) - YES (Justice Society) Spectre (Jim Corrigan) - NO (Justice Society) Stargirl - YES (Squadron of Justice) Bulletgirl - NO

Amazing Man, Firebrand and Flash look the most likely so far.

3 of our 4 remaining voters have given points to Jay in the past. But will they now? Will the 4th too?

YES to Power Girl, Spectre, and.... the Flash!
Realistically Flash is the only one who can make it, and only if he gets the last 3 votes (Unless new people join in and start voting).

YES to; (All-Star Squadron) Amazing Man (Will Everett) (All-Star Squadron) Firebrand (Danette Reilly) (All-Star Squadron) Sargon the Sorceror I'd love to vote for Northwind, Power Girl, Bulletgirl and Plastic Man, at least, as well, but I'm trying to cut back.
