Yeas...yes, I know. It ain't the Wolfman/Perez Titans, and it's super-duper silly. I mean, yeah, it's ri-DONK-ulously silly. Goofy as hell, even. And, yeah, I know the characters are caricatures of the rich, wonderful characters we all grew up with.

But....IT'S FUNNY AS HELL!!! I literally laugh out loud at least once or twice every time I see a new or new-to-me episode--and even often when I see a re-run!

Are we so stodgy and stuck-up about comics that we can't enjoy a hilariously funny cartoon that dares to poke fun at the source material? ARE WE?!?!?

So....why all the Haterade, folks?

My kids are obsessed with this show. They graduated to it from Tiny Titans, so they are used to their Titans with a healthy dose of comedy. Some episodes have been pretty funny, but it gets a little repetitive. Poor Robin really gets the worst drubbing of all of them. The episode where they time jump to the future and he's Nightwing, living alone in a basement with no friends was funny/sad all at the same time.

From what I've seen online, most of the vile comes from people in my age demographic (15-25) who were upset that the new incarnation of the show isn't telling serious storylines like old show. I was never a huge fan of the old show so I don't watch TTG, but from what I've seen, the style of humor is not my cup of tea. shrug

Keep up with what I've been watching lately!

I like both the older, more (but not overly) serious incarnation AND the slapstick "GO!" version. Let's not forget that the other show could be pretty damn goofy itself! nod

(My thirteen-year-old prefers the older version but still loves this one as well, btw.)

My niece loves the current shows... I grit my teeth and watch them with her.

I see listings for TTG! on the Boomerang channel... am I right in thinking these are the original series?

Teen Titans Go! Is the newer comedy show, that's mostly just absurdist shorts.

Teen Titans! is the series that proceeded it and was more serious, long-form story-telling with the same character designs.

I just want a show about Dick, Donna, Roy, Garth, and Wally.

Other than that, I have seen the show, and while I don't believe they need to do "serious" stories to make a good show, that didn't mean they had to turn the Titans into a bunch of borderline sociopathic morons.

It's hilarious that they make Robin the most messed-up of the bunch! His neurosis, extreme OCD or however you'd diagnose him clinically really spins the character in a way no one had ever thought of before. I'd never want to see him handles that extremely in a "real" book or show, but in this context it's a hoot!

P.S. Did a mod move this out of Titans forum, or did I mistakenly post it in Gym'll's? confused

Most of the bile I've seen is from comic book fans of the Titans who are stuck on the Wolfman/Perez portrayal. Granted, it was the height of quality and the undisputed heyday for the Titans (I mean, has it EVER been nearly as good since?), but that doesn't mean that Titans GO! can't be appreciated for what it is.

I've only seen 1 or 2 episodes of this show and wasn't a big fan, mainly because of the jarring disconnect in tone between it and the old Teen Titans! show (which I loved).

However my brother and my nephew (who have have neither ever read a Titans comic or watched the old Teen Titans! show) love it.

Q: Have any Titans characters other than the main 5 ever appeared in this show?

I've seen a handful of episodes and I like it, but I guess I am okay with that kind of humor. If DC/Warner had chosen a different super-hero team, I don't think they would get all the hate. It's just nostalgic people who think they powers that be are ruining their favorite cartoon.

I can appreciate what they're doing, but I can't watch it for very long. They just get annoying
