So do I! Where do I sign up?

Y'know I've been avoiding clicking on any thread marked spoilers since it's going to be a few days until I can get my copy from the mail order place. But with this thread title not to mention the 'thoughts about planet Cargg' thread that I stupidly opened thinking it would be okay because spoilers weren't marked in the title have pretty much given away an important surprise.
Yeah I gather that Cargg is an all female planet. Thanks for giving that away before I've had a chance to read the comic guys. *sigh*. I thought that for just one month I would be able to have the contents of an issue come as a surprise.
Guess I will have to avoid this board completely until I have my copy in future. Not getting your copy for about a week after the release really sucks!
For god's sake can we not have spoilers in thread titles and if there is any spoilers mark it in the thread title? Not everyone can get their copy right away!
*grrrrrr*

Drura, it seems to be a weird phenomena on this board. People start official threads (with a *spoilers* tag in the headline) to talk about the issue... but then others start threads discussing specific parts of the issue. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it certainly is different from other comics boards.

Sorry. "Cargg needs men" is a bit of an in-joke on this board. Compare this thread . This wasn't intended as a genuine discussion or spoiler thread, but instead as a non-specific humor thread which would be enhanced if one got the oblique reference to certain revelations in the new issue, so I didn't mark it as such. Perhaps I misjudged.

What spoiler? Apart from the standard joke, Cargg has needed men in the past. We didn't learn that much about Cargg in the Adventure-era; back then all the planets seemed to be just like Earth anyways. TMK portrayed it as a matriarchal society, and in the reboot we really only got to "meet" Lu and her grandmother. Didn't her dad just disappear soon after her birth?
In other words, we have never known much about, or seen much of, the men of Cargg. So perhaps they have needed a few male imports - and it doesn't seem that too many of the males of legionworld have signed up. Yet.

Does that mean Lu is really a 31st century Amazon?

We also saw Tinya dad, briefly, but he was pretty much a deadbeat dad like Lu's.

Parents, and especially fathers, have not fared well at all in Legion history. I wonder if women had been writing the series if it would have been different, or if it's just the eternal teenager-parent adversary business.

To be honest, the thread title doesn't really give away much at all.

Infectious Drura, I'm with you. Yes, by reading certain threads here on the Legion board, that don't have spoiler warnings, it's easy to figure out that the Threeboot Cargg is an all female world. The same thing happened to me. I decided to not open anymore unfamiliar threads until I got my copy of the issue. I thought for sure the "Incest" thread was going to be about Triplicate Girl.
This isn't fair to people who don't like reading spoilers. I, like Infectious Drura don't want to have to avoid Legion World until after I've read each issue. Sometimes I have to wait up to a week to get my comics, too.
Please, if your topic/post has anything to do with new information from a new issue, add a spoiler warning. It's not that hard.

Cargg needs men. I need men.
Therefore, Cargg = me.
Or something.

Yes, you are Cargg, as you are all things. You have achieved oneness with the universe! Aoum, Aoum.
But, um, do you really want to volunteer to be the man on a planet inhabitted by only one woman? I mean, you strike out once and you've struck out with the whole planet!
Avatar? I don't need no stinkin' avatar...

Yes, think how it would be if you forgot to call.
Another point is the fact that there's a rather large line if someone gets emotionally needy.

Actually, Cargg needs MORE than men.
You can't repopulate a planet with the genetic material of ONE woman, even with multiple partners. That would be an equivalent to inbreeding on a planetary scale and would mean the utter destruction of the Carggites in the long run. I'm afraid the solution isn't as simple as that.

True, but you've got to start somewhere.
Let's say there are a million Luornus. Bring in a million guys (or even better - less!), and the diversity process has started.
Let's say an average of two kids per couple, to keep this simple.
You don't need more women genetic stock until the new generation grows to reproductive age - say a million women (as one million men and one million Lus would make two million kids - one million of each gender); while the same million men colonists can still serve as genetic fodder for making the third generation, as long as they stay away from their own daughters.
By managing to keep gene-lines from overlapping for a few generations, and preventing future clustering, you've basically solved the problem.

Bah! All TG has to do is contact the Intergalactic Sperm Bank. Men are fun to have around sometimes but I'm not sure they're worth all the trouble. It would be funny if Cargg turned out to be the reimagined Taltar (man-hating homeworld of Thora).
