Animaniacs also used songs by They Might Be Giants. Well at least one song. Istanbul (Not Constantinople)

That's cool! Thanks for sharing. Glen Moore is a bassist who made three discs with singer Nancy King. His wife Samantha wrote several songs. The first and third discs are the best.

Birdhouse in Your Soul is my favorite They Might be Giants song. (Feel better, Quis? )

Both deserve to be better known than they are.

A lot of great shows are not available on DVD.
The one I most want to see on DVD is "The Highwayman", a short-lived sci-fi action series from the late 80s with a wonderfully kitschy cast: Failed Flash Gordon Sam J. Jones, Aussie flash-in-the-pan Jacko, and "V" arch-villainess Jane Badler. I think there were only 10 episodes in all, not counting the 2-hour pilot (and I don't, because it had almost nothing in common with the series, other than Jones and his souped-up truck.)

Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc had an episode about a Highwayman. He would lure females away with his charming British accent and his ability to listen.

...funny, I don't remember calling myself that... Oh yeah, the sci-fi Highwayman ... Highwayman intro Despite the Mad Max style opening, there's no slinky leather wearing appearance by Jane Badler at all. I feel cheated.

I wonder if we've gotten our accents mixed up.

Haven't you started appalling French accents yet? It's not all about how you wear your beret (as they say, or at least type on LW forums)

Is that your received pronunciation BBC British accent or your rough and ready British heist/ crime movie British accent?

I think many people outside the UK over-romantacize and over-idealize Received Pronunciation as if it were the most beautiful English spoken anywhere. Okay, I agree.

I can imitate that accent pretty well. My own accent is sort of a mix of General American with overtones of New England. I don't drop my Rs, but there are a few words ("aunt" and "blueberry", for example) that belie my birthplace.
