Okay, I'll give you this bit of advice right away -- avoid Colombia at all costs!

Oh dear. I was hoping to go to Cartagena.

Oh well, I have more "to dos" in Ecuador, anyhow. Thanks, Fanfie!

And if I did have to rank all of South America, Peru would come in first.

I agree! There is a Peruvian restaurant near where I work. Tan delicioso!

I really want to go for Machu Picchu. Then, the Galapagos in Ecuador, and Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia.

I've never been to South America, but I do have relatives I don't know in Argentina. My paternal grandmother's sister lived there.

A-ha's 1988 single "Touchy" was a massive hit in Poland, Belgium, Ireland, and France.

I took one semester of German in middle school. I was disappointed that my high school did not offer it. I do regret that I did not take Latin in high school.

German (pronounced "hair-mahn") Valdez, aka Tin Tan, was a Mexican comedian. His younger brother Manuel, aka El Loco, was also a comedian.

German is a somewhat common given name for boys here.

I have a fear of heights, so I hate travelling by plane.

I did not think I had a fear of heights until I went to the Willis Tower (Formerly the Sears Tower) in Chicago. On the top observation floor they have clear plastic boxes that extend off the side of the building. The floor is also clear plastic. I tried to step onto one, but just could not do it.

Although I have gone skydiving and hiking up mountains, I do have a bit of a fear of heights as well. Especially when I do not feel confident that what I am doing is safe.

I love heights, but not while driving. Probably saw too many detective-show car cliff-dives as a kid.
