Morrison: So, Superman is a blue energy being now? Great. I'll stick him in a proto-Wildfire robot suit and give it spider legs! Editor: Um....no... Morrison: Right. Martian Manhunter defeats the villains by opening his and their minds to everyone on the planet. Manhunter now has multiple personalities, but Martian powers for each one! Editor: Um...no... When the JLA became the Doom Patrol... I think he took some of the criticism (critical rather than commercial success or something) of the Doom Patrol run to heart. There was some really good ideas in there. Having said that, I can't say I shed many tears for his planet sized ego taking a hit

Now the obvious joke is something about Uranus, but it could have been any creator being talked about! Well, nearly any...ok some...

Well, better that than a Scanners reenactment, I guess.

For some reason, that made me think of Tremors, that monster movie with underground worms.

I'm not a big fan of horror movies, especially the slasher types.

When I first heard about slash fiction, I thought I would be a big fan. I've actually read very little.

Cracked has a few articles about the weirdest slash fanfic online. Some of them are just so strange.

Cracked has several good articles. I avoid the ones about gaming though. I am old.

When I first heard about slash fiction, I thought I would be a big fan. I've actually read very little. I have a few bookmarked on AO3 that I really love. Aside from bad writing, what tends to put me off is seeing the same few pairings over and over again. It's like potatoes. Yeah, I like them fine, but not at every frickin' meal.

I love the Cracked "After Hours" videos. Actually, Dan and Soren would make a great slash pairing.

You must be one of those fans that Dan and Soren mention sometimes in their articles

I'd set you guys up if I could, but I don't spend much time on Cracked.
In my head canon, I really like the idea of IK1 and Chem living happily ever after. They got such a raw deal in actual canon.

Y'know, I just re-read that one yesterday. Kind of tough to get worked up about a character who you only know for about 6-7 panels. On the other hand, a ghost-Legionnaire who could communicate with both the living and the dead would've been really !

I have no position on the Lyle/Condo issue. Preboot IK was a pretty dull character anyway, though I did enjoy the one flashback issue Levitz did during the Baxter series where Lyle is alone when someone breaks into Legion HQ.
Keep up with what I've been watching lately! "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you."

I think Lyle became a breakout star in the SW6 and especially in the Reboot.
I like him and Condo together because they are sexy hot. And I see them as surrogates for me and Blaze.

On the other hand, a ghost-Legionnaire who could communicate with both the living and the dead would've been really ! In one of the threads in which we came up with new powers/origins for Legionnaires based upon their names, I re-did Phantom Girl as an actual phantom who was killed in the present day on the site where the Legion HQ would later be built. At first she was not able to move beyond where she was killed, but she eventually was able to go anywhere. She could also move items like a poltergeist.

I am trying to find the thread.
I also like my new Dawnstar. Totally different character with different powers. She was the sister of Cosmic King. She was trying to duplicate his powers in order to show the other Venusians that transmutation is not evil. She ended up transmuting herself. She can change here whole boy into different elements, but can't change back to human (too complex for her to do). She joins the Legion like Lightning Lad did to track down her villainous brother. She took the name Dawnstar with is an Earth name for Venus.

Maybe someone can use their Dawnstar powers and track it down for us?

I remember brainstorming a great contribution to that thread which promptly died on the vine because of my unhappy childhood or an explosion down the block or something.
