The French also work shorter hours and take longer vacations.
Lack of autonomy, stress, lack of sleep, being persecuted for orientation, social class, race, etc... all of these things are woefully under-analyzed for the long-term negative effects they have on health and longevity.

Long travel times and inter-connectedness, too.
