I love the middle years of Bloom County, but I've always felt that it declined precipitously about two years before Berke Breathed finally called it a day.

^^True, and also some people just aren't cut out for doing creative work for a living. I know I'm not. It only flows when I'm doing it as a hobby, and even there the stream runs dry every now and then.

Creativity is difficult to force. It would be an interesting study topic, actually...

Looking back on the dates for the work I never finished, I was actually turning out a little more than a chapter a month, which is better than I remembered.

What killed my productivity was tons of manual labor. Then when I finally went back to the non-manual kind, I couldn't get my mojo back. Also, I lost a bunch of notes about 2-3 computer meltdowns ago, but I'm now trying to reconstruct them.

My productivity has always been affected by over-thinking the plots until I'm so frustrated that I leave the story unfinished and move on to something else that also ends up unfinished.

That's why it's been great with my most recent project to have Ibby as a sounding board for my plot ideas. Once I have his blessing, that's when I start writing.

I'm happy to consult with the plot and to provide feedback on the pieces after they're written. I enjoy sharing ideas with Fanfie.

w00t! Well, we'll see what I can get done once I'm done reconstructing my notes and re-watching the 'toons.

One thing I do want to do, since reading some of your comments, is give the characters of color more stuff to do than I have-- instead of leaving them all on the periphery.

I've enjoyed the snippets of your stuff I've seen. Same for FL, Omni, and Harbinger. I hope more fans here will get on the Archive of One's Own waiting list and start cross-posting there. Very little Legion stuff there compared to other DC fandoms.

Conjure Lass has a couple of fics there. I never see her around anymore, but I hope she's okay.

Conjy is fine. She's on Facebook a lot.

I've written stuff for other sites on which I'm active, but haven't written much for LW. Most of the stuff I've written in the last few years is for a particular audience and that's all I'll say. wink

Now I have this silly idea of what Rocky writes wink

Archive of One's Own? Sounds interesting! I may have to look into that. Thanks for the tip cleome! And I am happy you have been looking at my stuff too.

Yeah, Conjy is very active on Facebook. I do enjoy her musings and uodates.

Well, this is the song I was thinking about today when I actually sat down and wrote something. ElasticLad How 'bout that...

sigh

Aaaand... I had to take out the YouTube link because it melts down halfway through. That seems to be a thing over there lately. (It's a good thing I'm not superstitious.)

"The Young," from Kate Schutt's fabulous Paper Crown Project.

There's a snippet here:

I have kind of a big girl crush on her. She started out very Ani diFranco-ish, but quickly moved on to more interesting stuff like this.
