Atmos! Atmos from the preboot Legion was a total jerk.

The Atmos in Dr. Who wasn't very good either.

I think RJ would have made an excellent Dr Fate. Practical, with his eye on developing society in a benign way. No lurking around Salem towers or getting caught up with Order vs Chaos for this guy.

I'd rather RJ be a benevolent White Martian that J'onn J'onzz or a Durlan.

I'm not sure how I feel about RJ being J'onn J'onzz.

Speaking of shapeshifters, I've been watching an early '80s cartoon, Blackstar. I think my favorite character is the shapeshifter, Klone. He has a very dry sense of humor.

Klone. What an apt name.

He later went on to found the successful hipster frozen dessert franchise: Klone's Kones.

Thank goodness he didn't spell Kones with a Z.

In David Bowie's Blackstar video we see the body of an astronaut being returned to the sky and towards a dark portal (star in this case) from an alien world. Perhaps they had watched Blackstar and this is what could have happened to John Blackstar in the end.

That sounds interesting.

It was taken to be the end of Major Tom, which as it turned out when Bowie died, it was.

David Bowie's real name was David Jones. He used Bowie so he would not be confused with Davie Jones of the Monkees. Both have now died.

I'm not a Brady Bunch fan, but I remember liking the song that Davy Jones sang when he guest starred on the Brady Bunch.

I'm tempted to YouTube it, but I'm afraid that to my jaded, cynical adult self the song will seem cheesy and/or creepy.

The name "Davy Jones" as a malevolent sea spirit is usually thought to derive in part from "Jonah".

When I was little, I though Davy Jones' Locker referred to a locker belonging the Monkee.

When I was little and living outside the U.S., I assumed that the Animals were a comedy band like the Monkees, and I pictured them running through a haunted house during "We Gotta Get Out of This Place."

Ha! That's funny. I can picture Eric Burdon in a wool cap.

My dad saw Eric Burdon perform solo at a racetrack a few years ago. He says Burdon was really nice to his fans, and signed autographs for everyone who wanted one.

That's nice. Some celebrities can get too big for their britches.

They really should lay off all the pastries and booze.

I miss pastries and booze.

I did have some really tasty roasted veggies for dinner, though. Followed up by a few small pieces of Ritter Sport Dark Chocolate With Mint.

I love roasted veggies. Squash and eggplant.

I did a dish of rutabagas and carrots, with herbs. Really good.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts are also great. I'd eat those more than once every other week if they were cheaper.

I've been looking around for more vegetarian or vegan dinners to try. It's kind of hit-or-miss. Some have been promising, but maybe need a little tweaking. Others have been major clunkers which I'm surprised got published, even online.

I did a stuffed bell pepper dish once. I made the peppers crunchy.

I like that Ibby's familiar with the word "britches"!
