The Pacific on the Northwest U.S. Coast gives as cool summers. This means that even at Summer's zenith it's very chilly to try and swim in without a wetsuit.
Tidepools, on the other hand, warm up well and are great to wade or soak in.

I miss the beach. Sometimes when I am on it, I hate the sand (especially rocky sand). But I miss quiet beaches with soft sand. I miss lazing around, doing nothing...

As I said in another thread, when I met Rokk Steady in person at SDCC in 2008, he introduced himself as Rokk Steady. I then said "Rockhopper." It was funny.
The first person on LW to call me "Rocky", on the other hand, was Tempest. I was here about a year before that nickname caught on.

That sounds like it would the name for Rocky, Rokk, and BB's groupies.
Keep up with what I've been watching lately! "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you."

Hmm. Rokk and Rocky could really rock. That might be a classic sitcom in the making.

the name of their show would be "Rocky Road". The tag line: Can a man and a penguin share an apartment without driving each other crazy?

An old Doctor Who comic series had a penguin as the Doctor's assistant. It was a shape changer that got stuck in a single form (I think). Sort of like RJ Brande with a different, silly accent. His name was Frobisher.

My favorite Dr. Who companions are Sarah Jane Smith, Leela, and Donna Noble

Sarah Jane Smith and Donna Noble (she's brilliant, you know) are my faves.

His name was Frobisher. I think I would've rather seen RJ meet this fate than be bumped off. Though I guess then it would be Chameleon Boy who was the Time Trapper, instead of Cosmic Boy. I've seen a couple of the recent Dr. Who Christmas episodes, but apart from that I haven't watched or read much from that franchise since my teens.

Poor RJ. Although I would argue that he was more influentual in the Reboot than in the Preboot. Partly due to prominence. After all he was the UP President ...

The industrialist becomes President - sort of a model for Ross Perot, rather than Donald Trump.

Yeah Durla and Earth are pretty far apart.
I wonder if one of those Dr Who Christmas specials that cleome saw was the Runaway Bride with Donna Noble.
I recently re-watched series 4 (Donna's season) And they really had the whole year planned out. In the first episode, you can see a car with the Atmos sticker on it. In the second episode, one of the soothsayers tells Donna that there is something on her back. Plus all the missing planets scattered throughout the series.
