I don't even watch American soaps any more, not even my once beloved GH. Now if you want to talk Coronation Street or even EastEnders...

That makes me giggle.

I know someone who used butter on someone else's buns. They were quite in a hurry, they said.

None of the soaps I watched are on any more. Some fans have been posting episodes of The Edge of Night from the early '80s on YouTube. It was cancalled in 1984 and the last few years were rerun during a late night timeslot on USA Network after that. It hasn't been seen on TV since.

I have little patience for TV soaps, because I don't like having to catch every episode in sequence.

My mom used to watch The Three Stooges. She still does. I'm a second-generation Stooges fangirl. All that talk about women not liking the Stooges is ignorant bull.

As I recall, they were not actually voiced by the Three Stooges, though.

Yes, sadly. That was my first exposure to the Stooges though and I was at first perplexed to see there were real life versions of them

I was never much of a Stooges fan. On the other hand, I love their rendition of "Swingin' the Alphabet".

It wasn't really a TV series. They were comedic short films (a few features) for theatrical release. In those days, a night at the movies included a cartoon, a newsreel, a short, trailers for upcoming films, and the feature. Now we only get the trailers and the feature.

Of course, the shorts were later re-packaged and shown on television, which is how most of us were exposed to them.

The pelican brief was quite intriguing.

I would absolutely wear shorts with pelicans on them.

Brief Encounter was a British kitchen sink drama concerning two teenagers who find love across the washing line between their grimy tenement buildings...or something.

I remember it was a bit scandalous when Bill Clinton answered the famous "Boxes or Briefs?" question back when he was first running for president.

Now that seems like such an innocent time...

Surely he'd just wear a box if he was playing cricket?

I have a sneaking suspicion that Billy Bubba spent more time going commando while in the White House than wearing either boxers, briefs or boxes.

So that's what Monica was doing crawling under the desk. Commando training.

She was playing spot the commando, in fact. Billy's Commando can be very hard to find.
