I said this in another thread, but I think it bears repeating:
No one articulated the childlike joy we take in simple pleasures like Lash did. He was an inspiration to us all.

If 32499 were a ZIP Code, it would be in the vicinity of Panama City, Florida. I think Lash would have liked some beachfront property.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

How do you write an equation to measure the wonder of a Lash to a Legion World? x 32,499? Nah. Not even close!

GIRL, I HATED IT!!!!
Ramona Fradon drew Element Girl with beauty vivaciousness and love of life, and Sandman # 20 made her a hideous suicidal monster.
I tied all that in with why I just never "got" Vertigo, though I tried to, mainly to be cool like the cool-looking, hot sexy boys who were buying it and probably secretly deriding me for buying Legion of Super-Heroes.
Nowadays, I *might* give those guys a mercy make-out session-- IF they brush their teeth and buy some new shoes first.

I don't know how, but Lasher managed to impart manic yet calm wit, zaniness, and insane yet never mean snark all at the same time.
I got home today and thought... nope, no message from Lash.
It kinda sucks, but then I think about all the crazy fun over the years and while I would have wished for more, I think he did more than he ever needed to to brighten and enliven other lives.
So, I'm gonna, when I can, try to be as crazy and as fun as possible here in his name.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

I knew it! His favorite characters were always Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad and Dvron.

So today I find out that the owner of my local lcs, a guy not much older than me and an all around decent guy, has passed. Denny and I have had conversations for several decades now when I went into the store. This is where I bought/by my comics.
And then I see this when I get here and realize that this year has been a pretty nasty one. Yes, people pass on, that's life and it's a given. But lately it seems like the crap rises to the top and the good ones pass on.
Denny's little lcs is where I bought my Legion comics. And it strikes me that when the next legion comic comes out, there wont be Dev, Michael, or Denny around for me to bullshit with.
Majorly bummed out now.
Still miss ya, Lasher.

Sorry for your loss, Rick.
Several years ago, I went to a comic store in the northland Kansas City area. The owner, like me, happened to be named Greg. He seemed like a decent sort, but rather sensitive.
In any case, the shop was eventually bought out by another comic store owner in town and I learned from him that Greg had died of brain cancer. I was very sad to hear this; I only met him a few times, but he seemed like a great guy. (He even bought a few of my old Batman comics.)
Our comic book "dealers" are almost like part of our extended family, and it hurts when they pass.

My condolences for Denny's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the rest of his friends and family.

Imra has nothing to apologize for. She's better than you* and she knows it.
She's not snooty, she's knowledgeable. She isn't wicked, she's determined.
Who you gonna go to in a pinch, eh? Your Star Boys, Life Lasses and Lampreys? HA. I doubt it.
You're going to go to IMRA, that's who. *She* gets the job DONE. And the whole thread is awesome, too!!

I reread "The Six-Legged Legionnaire" last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Lana proved herself to be heroic, inventive with her abilities, competent in battle and fearless in the face of danger! Definite Legionnaire material!
And I just loved the li'l flash of light and ZZTTT! sound-effect that meant she was using her ring.
