Well, Wildfire might actually be my all-time favorite DC Universe character so that wasn't hard. Once I start making a top five though it gets more complicated...

With sixteen votes thus far, only two characters have multiple votes!

I think that speaks volumes for why the Legion has lasted these past fifty years!

It's certainly no *mystery* who I picked...

Five would be very hard, I agree. I know who my favorite 7 are-- then there's a bunch of characters who are and aren't Legionnaires that could fill the other three slots interchageably.

We have a clear leader at the moment, and a bit unexpected!

While said character is traditionally among the most popular Legionnaires in "Top Five" or "Top Ten" polls, he doesn't usually do quite as well in individual favorite polls!

Perhaps we're getting some Toon Legion fans voting for him. He seems to be very popular with that set.

As I've said before, it's hard for me to pick just one, but I always go back to good ol' Cosmic Boy.

I had to pick one of my favorites randomly. I have too many favorites...

Oh, I picked CHuck, but could easily have picked a half dozen others. and if i'd waited until tomorrow it probably would have been someone else, Tenz, or Cham, or Imra, or Laurel...

The leader doesn't surprise me at all, considering how central to the Legion he is, but the runner-up sure does!

Other than one poster (Blacula) who I know loves the character outright, I can't think of anyone else who considers him one of their top favorites.

I picked the runnerup because I'd thought that no one else would! Imagine my surprise. In light of that, I shoulda picked another favorite who didn't get any votes.

My favorite is definitely Dream Girl/Dreamer....I just want Shooter to bring her back.


I am shocked to see who is 1st and 2nd. I always see people complaining that the #1 person gets too much spotlight and I NEVER see anyone mentioning that they like the 2nd person

Imra Imra! Number one isn't surprising, but one of the legionnaires tied for second does surprise me..a lot. Hmm..Where have the fans of said legionnaire been all this time??

Would it be possible to have a poll where everybody could vote their favorite five characters - number one gets 5 points, number two four points and so on?

It's hard to pick one, but I guess it would be interesting wo is generally popular and who gets no votes at all....

I think we've done ranked votes before, but there's no way to do it with the polling software. Somebody actually has to count up the votes for each character, which is a lot of work.

Plus, I think for most people once you get past the first couple any ranking of the ones you really like is pretty much arbitrary.

In case anyone's interested in how I generated the list, it's supposed to be everyone who has been depicted as a member of the Legion in one or more mainline continuity versions (basically the original (pre-Crisis and 5YL versions); the Reboot version; the Threeboot version; The Cartoon version; the Lightning Saga version). I left out those who were only honorary, reservists, joined under false pretenses and were expelled*, joined on a temporary basis**, or whose membership was entirely "offscreen"***. I've also combined all versions of the characters into one, with the exception of Projectra/Sensor, who I don't really consider the same character, despite the obvious similarities. And characters are named by their original or most familiar names.

*Note that Nemesis Kid is there because of the cartoon.
**The Khund Legionnaires are excluded on this basis.
***Hence all of the Legionnaires who were only active during the 5YG are missing.

a lot of my fav are doing well but i cant help but pick my fav....i think it might have to do with his coloring...i have a special unhealthy relationship with the color green..and slightly crazy people as well

It was hard picking just one but it did say "all-time favorite" and although I'm not particularly fond of the current Shooter version, I've always had a certain fondness.
