Well, last time on the book he was pretty respectful of Wildfire, who was the only character that had been added in between his runs. At least he didn't turn him into Red Tornado or anything.

I am looking forward to this mini-series. At the very least, it's about time that attempts to address Legion continuity are billed as as much of a crisis as the rest of them. Geoff has a knack for fitting these things together to my satisfaction, so that is also promising.

More foreboding is XS' being grouped with Time Trapper and Lex Luthor. Just in case, I'd better gear myself up for her having some questionable motives--maybe that's why Brainy made sure to get the lightning rod.

Part of me would like to see this all end up with the "Adventure" title re-launched as "Adventures of the Legions of Super-Heroes," where each issue could have separate stories dedicated to any particular Legion of the multiverse. And half of my desire to see that is because I would enjoy fans who hate any particular version being forced to buy an issue with that Legion because their favorite Legion was also in it.

Why would they? Hate wins over love, every time, in real life if you look at all the people dying out there.

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I pretty much hate the Post Crisis Legions, but I still bought them and read them. It wasn't so much that I didn't like what was there...as it was that I didn't like what wasn't there. It's what was missing that bothered me.

But there were some great characters introduced and some of the artwork was fantastic. I just wished they would have stuck to introducing the new characters rather than needlessly altering some of the well loved original ones.

Rebooting all the old characters, sometimes done with some absolutely senseless changes, that's not really adding anything to the Legion...it's just overwriting what was already there.

That's what it was to me anyway.

It could be DC just changing course in midpath...but it could also have been part of a greater plan all along...

Keep in mind, the Lightning Saga Legion appeared before Shooter was signed to take over the W&K Legion IIRC.

I am pretty sure Shooter knew what he was getting into and so whatever plans there were he was a part of them.

Then again...maybe DC thought of him as an A list lame duck. If that's the case then he is throwing a monkey wrench into the works by writing a far more entertaining version of the Legion than a lot of(non Legion) fans thought he would.

But personally, I don't see why Shooter couldn't continue writing any Legion, any of them. He's shown to be pretty adept at writing the original Legion. More importantly.he's a doing a great job of writing a Post Crisis Legion...and that's been hard to do for a lot of great writers.

If at the end of L3W, there is only one Legion standing with various members of all 3 Legions(which if not done right I would absolutely hate), I don't see why Shooter couldn't write it as good as anyone.

Johns has made it kind of clear that if he writes a Legion book he wants it to be one with Superman/boy in it...so he'd be writing about a different aspect of the Legion than Shooter would....

Because it is my delusion. You have my hopes that you will soon find a way to temper that cynicism, BTW.
