However, even if there had not been a Lightning Saga legion, I would still jump at reading this book, partly to get a taste of something other than the current "official" Legion, but also because I tend to not pre-judge these things.

Geoff said that we would see the "Last GL" in the series - and "second next to last GL" which is obviously Rond Vidar (or Universo? as there were two diff version of Universo - Rond's Father and Saturn Girl's cousin....). It has been running with a lot of speculations such as Sodom Yat (GL Daxamite), Mogo the living planet, some GLs seen in LSH #296, Carrie Wren, and/or even Rainbow Girl.

Hate to nitpick - but it is actually "VS" - as in 'versus'. However, I am interested in the correlation with the "secret mission" that was never brought up in the reboot. The only flaw about that was that the reboot Legion did actually meet the 5YL Legion (among others). However, that doesn't rule out the other three meeting....

With 52 universes out there to play in, I see no reason why Geoff would collapse these 3 Legions into only one team for the future. It defies logic, since they just recently made more sandboxes to play in. Have I mentioned I'm really, really looking forward to this?

Because, as I've been saying all along, "There won't be 52 universes at the end of this."
All you need is Love (and a whole big bucket of Money).

Or representatives of the different teams form a sort of Legion of Legions-- without destroying, deleting or changing the ongoing existence of their home LSH's.
They could even utilize the 'taken out of time and returned a second later' bit, so that reboot Cosmic Boy could still appear with the reboot team at some future publication date and have a place in the Legion of Legions.
Guardians of the time stream, or something? Andromeda and XS already have some sort of similar role.

I rwecall reading about Sodam Yat, and that Alan Moore actually created him and predicted he would be the last GL in his story. It is interesting for it to all come back at us now.

I'm really looking forward to this, but there's definitely two issues with the projects.
With doing something so big with the 3 Legions, there's no real way to put back the genie in the bottle, meaning that none can really go back to obscurity without people being really angry at DC... Of course, this applies a lot to the "original" Legion... they've been teasing at its return way too much to put them away again... and the TPBs are another indication of that. Having said that, while I'm not particularly keen on the 3boot legion (even tough it's gotten better with Shooter writing), this newest version can't go either. Merging all three Legions in a new continuity might work, but as a lot of people say, it will piss off many people.
On the other hand, there's no way DC can publish 3 different Legion books, or do an anthology with all three Legions. It wouldn't make sense commercially.
So it's going to be a very intersting anniversary year.

How DC can use three different Legions? With connections to different 21st century heroes.
The Action "original" Legion to Superman.
The ZH Legion with XS, Gates, etc. to the Flash and Teen Titans.
The current Shooter Legion to Supergirl.
I admit it can get confusing but it's an idea.

So it's going to be a very intersting anniversary year. maybe DC plans on going the Green Lantern route. one team gets a solo book, while the others have to be make due with the occasional guest spot in other books. one thing I am sure of, the status quo won't be same the same next year. and here's another dose of paranoia for the 3boot fans: Shooter's arc is supposed to be 16 parts right? while the upcoming 3 worlds will be 5 parts. the 3 worlds ends in December. while Shooters arc would end in June of next year. June is a good time to release a new book isn't it?

I really don't see the point of putting Shooter on the threeboot Legion if they're really just destined to be replaced by the LS Legion. After all this stuff from interviews with Shooter about not wanting to reboot when he took over the book, it seem insane to then pull the rug out next summer. If anything, Shooter should be writing "his" Legion, rather than Waid's. I'd definitely trust Shooter over Johns in handling the "original" Legion.

I admit it can get confusing but it's an idea. And poor Lar Gand keeps getting tossed in the Phantom Zone and coming out again in all of them.

If they were planning on this before hiring Shooter (which is possible, though not certain - as the Flash debacle showed, DC has a habit of changing plans hurredly and claiming that's what they meant all along), then they needed to stall for a year. In that circumstance, they could quite easily have hired Shooter for a pre-defined length of run.

GP: Well, I'm also trying to make the Dream Girls different from each other. [/b]I love George's Dream Girl - his Dream Girl on LOSH #268 was great. I just don't want Dreamy to become a ditzy airhead again - I like her cool, confidant, flirty at times but intelligent. I hated her in "Legionnaires" - ugg. I do prefer the codename Dreamer though. Is there a way we can add our own avatars/incons to Legion World? I would like to use a different Dreamy then the ones they have avaialble.

I have had a much better appreciation of the character since the DnA run. Waid's characterization of her also was one of the high points of the current run, IMO.

one of the things i always thought about the legion was cause they took place in the a thousand years from now that nothing was set is ever in stone. for them events from this time could change , and in turn changed how that time would look and
thats is why i never really saw the legion as being three different teams just the same team with different actions in time that created them

Why not just let Bedard or somebody write it for a year? This *does* really smack of DC having no freaking idea what they're actually doing.

Aye and aye again on Mon-El in the Phantom Zone all the time! I've gotten quite confused with all of that.
EDE, I worry about Shooter writing the LS-Action Legion cause not sure how he will treat the characters that joined after his run.
