For those not on Facebook:

Dev's wife posted

will post the obituary as soon as it is available but here are the arrangements for my love:
Pixley Funeral Home
322 W. University Drive
Rochester, Michigan 48307
The viewing will be 2pm-8pm on Sunday 11/15
The funeral is at 11am on Monday 11/16 David will lie in
state at 10am. Hannah's middle school pastor RJ Grunwald has
graciously agreed to do the service. Everything is at Pixley. I am just too tired to move around too much more.
Thank you for your love and prayers.

I've been thinking about Dev non-stop since I found out yesterday morning. I keep thinking about when we started planning the Lord of the Oval novella, which started out as PMs between Lardy, Dev and I after we had so much fun doing a roleplay on the MMB. At the time we only had facebook to do a threeway private message like that. I was in London on a business trip, totally exhausted and jet-lagged and all the while at 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM I'm getting these hilarious and often brilliant messages from Lardy and Dev. It was like we were 9 years old and just discovered how instant messenger works.

That was one of his specialties though--quick one-liners that jump on an in-joke and turn it into the thread. Its one of the specialties most of us share and what the LMB is founded on.

This board is filled with his posts. Over 12,000 of them. It'll be nice to continue to see them again and again when I look at old threads.

All Dev's death has made me think is that November, for me, is now officially the worst month of the year for me since 2009. There's always drama, and always nonsense, and now it feels like friends dying has been added to the mix.

I lost another friend last November.

I, I didn't know how bad Dev's health problems were.

Those of us on Facebook only found out about a week and a half ago.

Wait. Wait.

I'm sorry. You meant him being sick. Not that he died.

I'm so sorry.

This is really sad new, Dev was a legend. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

Legion Worlds NINE - wait, there's even more ongoing amazing adventures? Yup, and you'll only find them in the Bits o' Legionnaire Business Forum.

I did some geocities archives scraping and was able to find his very first LMB post. Just 8 days after the org was founded he was named Member #25, causing Lash to jettison the initial 25 member limit (and "whew" for that smile ).

Dev was a gold mine of great stories, riotous post-a-thons, etc. It always made me feel good to read his stuff. My thoughts are with him, and the loved ones he had to leave behind.

You're the best, Quis.

Unfortunately, I just started another job that doesn't pay out 'til December. I was idle for a month before I started. So I don't think I can do the GFM thing at the moment.

Jennifer and Dave's mom put together a nice photo gallery, and there's an online guest book.

I don't know if there's anyone else in the area these days, but I'll be going to the funeral home on Sunday. I can't make it to the funeral Monday.

Seymour, it's great that somebody can go. I wish I could at least Skype a message or something. (Don't actually have Skype.) Please let us know how Sunday goes.
