If move the up/down scroll bar on this page back and forth very fast, you get dizzy. I hope that's a worthwhile lesson for all you youngsters out there.

Uh, make that "moderately fast." If you move it very fast, it just looks stupid. A tip for all you new homemakers.

IMHO, the LSH jumped the shark with the reboot. They were looking at the sharks teeth during the 5YG, but that's where the "shark jumping" happened. Sorry, but it hasn't really been the same since, though DnA is much better than their predecessors.

JSA didn't retcon out those events, but they gave a different explanation for the actions, made it so that Dove wasn't really killed and Hawk was posessed and driven mad.

Fan speculation caught on to this matter as early as her first appearance, and so, to throw the fans a looop, the writers shifted and created a very convuluted and artificial way of making Vi the one possessed by the Eye. Funnily enough, while I've been going through LegionPics to find stuff to save, I found this, posted by Jeff Moy (Msg 2489 if you're quick). Note the title... Jeff Moy said: I also forgot to post this design for Kinetix Week. At least I think I did. If I did already forgive the repost. KC had me do this either to throw in a red herring in the office or it was something we were actually considering. I don't know. Makes ya wonder sometimes. Jeff

So now I'm trying to remember why I thought I didn't like Moy's work.

That *IS* a mighty hot pic!
I never disliked his work and in fact think his run might be more fondly remembered by LSH fandom if he had bailed about 1-2 years earlier before the stories went into the crapper for the most part...

Whew! That Kinetix pic is great, I do remember that popping up on LegionPics ages ago. Moy's art may not have appealed to everyone, but he improved quickly from his debut, interacted with Legion fandom, and stayed consistantly with Legionnaires or another Legion one-shot or book every month for about five years. Those are why I've got to salute the fellow. Not to mention, he always did draw some amazing Legion ladies! XS, Triad, and Umbra come to mind as particular favorites rendered by Moy.
Back to the Kinetix as Emerald Empress concept, red herring or not I notice she's still wearing a Legion belt and styled-uniform. Would the plans have been to have her running around with the Eye as one of the most powerful Legionnaires, or would it be looked down by Legion code for a large bulk of her powers (assuming she would still have or have gotten back her telekinesis by then) to come from an outside source? It would have been an interesting concept to play out to have the Eye working with the Legion, even if it would have only been a short while.

And this was during the Draft days, remember. Even elsewise, the wording is a touch vague: 3.1 To qualify for active membership, a candidate must: (i) have at least one genuine super-power not activated, assisted, or powered by extrinsic means The question is - does that matter if you've ALREADY qualified for active membership [She never left @ that point, she just went on a leave of absence]. I didn't see them yanking Umbra's membership and mindwiping her (Section 4, SUbsection 6, look it up ). Or Magno's for that matter, since he still has his flight ring in LW.

Nearly every show that introduces some new child for a cuteness factor (Cosby Show, Married w/ Children, Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes, Growing Pains, Brady Bunch, Scooby Doo, I'm sure there are others) is considered to have "jumped the shark". With that in mind, could there be any doubt that the postboot Legion pole-vaulted that shark when Lori Morning became an integral part of the cast?

I'm glad to see I didn't screw up with my first MB post ever! I was afraid I'd be "eaten alive" (no "Jaws" reference intended). I agree with MLLASH's original statement that when something has run as long as the LSH, there will be the good times and the bad. It just may be time for me to "jump back into the water" with the Legion. Thanks for making my first post a three pager, even if much of it was MB aerobatics. Peace and love. QL

queer legion-- (and don'tya just GOTS to love that name!)
I agree that it is time for you to get back into the LEGION.
Rumour has it that the current DREAM CRIME arc is gonna get the TPB treatment.
Or if you don't wanna wait that long, preboot LEGION fan-fave STEVE LIGHTLE is doing full art for the upcoming issue # 24 starring Umbra (fka Shadow Lass) and is sure to be a stunning issue to behold. Steve himself is stoked about the issue and the cover is astounding!
And then the big anniversarry issue is # 25... where "a" Superboy returns to The Legion...

Noted MLLASH, thanks. I probably will try it out. (If for nothing else, to settle the "Superboy" issue.) I just have the great fear this is going to lead to the pocket-draining "back-issue" syndrome!

hmmmm... this is actually a tough question...
Okay-- Batista's art and Wright's colors are ASTOUNDING!!!
But I *do* think Dream Crime may be suffering from TPBitis... meaning that it is obviously being written for the TPB format... and therefore might have some "padding" going on... I still want to wait until the final issue next month to confirm this but it DOES appear to be the case...
Still, all in all it has been a FUN arc and I can easily give the entire package thus far a solid 'B'.
SO I suppose I *do* reccommend it!
