Well, I have a T-shirt with Jay Garrick's lightning bolt and I have a WWI helmet. That's what I wore last year.

What is the closest holiday to your birthday?

Friday the 13th. I take work off, grab some beers with friends, get a tattoo, and watch 80s Slasher flicks until the mornin light.
SAPBM
You prefer an overcast/rainy day, or bright and sunny weather?

Sunny if I am traveling or on the beach, but generally overcast as it is cooler.

I can tell you about why I like my favorite Legionnaires (don't make me choose! ) but all of them-Matter-Eater Lad, Ferro Lad, Triplicate Girl, Bouncing Boy, Chemical King, Night Girl, and Dream Girl-illustrate that everyone had it in em to contribute, be a hero and part of the team, and find their place in the universe. SAPBM Same question! Let's hear about your favorite Legionnaire!

I have a bunch too!
Kinetix - I could relate to her lust for power. It made her feel special but she also just wanted to do good.
Gates - sarcastic teleporting communist bug for the win!
Brainiac 5 - Postboot Brainiac 5 under DNA was the best Brainy ever
XS - liked her journey from scared kid to capable hero
Live Wire - liked the Postboot Garth's journey from emotional, impulsive brat to thoughtful, mature hero
Wildfire - DNA's Drake was amazing. Cocky but not angry, and loads of fun.
Apparition - I felt for her mommy issues and applauded her willingness to stand up for herself
Violet - I could relate to shy overlooked Vi
Chuck Taine/Bouncing Boy - this is why I gave him powers in my fic! Love his optimism
Polar Boy - ditto!
Monstress - she is just such a dear
Umbra - post-Legion Worlds Tasmia was regal, arrogant yet courteous. Loved the expanded powers
Triad - the multiple personalities thing was endearing
Kid Quantum II - tough and cool powers!
Saturn Girl - I respect her strong sense of self-control
And in the context of my fictional world, Invisible Kid, Chemical King, Particon, Nightwind and Infectious Lass are fast becoming my faves too!
Wow what a mouthful!

Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern
The character really struck a chord with me as a teenager because he represented everything I wanted to be: fearless, selfless, and able to do anything through his willpower. When I read Green Lantern stories, I felt like I was right there with Hal, exploring new worlds and meeting fantastic aliens. However, even beyond that, I loved that he was also just an average guy who I could relate to, but not in the Marvel sense of being flawed to the point of mental insanity.

I like Hal too! Tough Q, this one. I am very happy whenever I read a Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi) story. I like her powers; I love Japan; and I liked her growth in COIE, where she gets inspired by Supergirl's sacrifice to be more humble. I also like the science background, her being basically a single mom, and the occasional bitchiness is always fun to read. A close runner-up is Kole, who is a very sweet and optimistic hero. In COIE she was very competent, and I love the utility of her powers. Obscure much? SAPBM, Tell us about your favorite villain.

I don't think of him as a villain, but he was portrayed as such until the end.
And that would be Prof. Snape from Harry Potter.

I would like a more powerful passport (USA or UK or Japan would be good) so I could travel without applying for visas; and a credit card with no limit and that never needed to be repaid.
SAPBM,
Same question.

I'd like to have dinner with all the friends I have lost touch with over the years.
Just the good ones, mind you. The ones I actually miss.

I can't remember going that long with out, but my best guess is about two weeks.

"slap" me for mind merging the last two posts.
Probably "Calvino's," a rare bistro in a city of fast food and business school recipe restaurants. A few tables with a chalkboard and a few more up some stairs. Local owned.

I hardly ever do takeout now. When I do get takeout it is usually dimsum, and from the cheap chain stalls at the mall... ... my best answer is Causeway Seafood Restaurant, which has a promo for dimsum at certain times of the day. They have three branches in the north of the Philippine capital. Blaze and I have eaten there twice, and sometimes I'll get some takeout there for cheap dimsum-y goodness. SAPBM, Without sharing spoilers for Episode Vii, which of the 7 main Star Wars films is your favorite?

Return of the Jedi; it was the first Star Wars movie I really sat down in watch (I watched Phantom Menace in theaters when I was a kid, but I was only 3 so a lot of it flew over my head). I really liked how Luke defeated the Emperor not with violence, but by using his words to talk Vader down and return him to the light side of the Force

Oh boy, here we go. A few months ago, my friend's fraternity hosted a party at this club in downtown Atlanta. I'm not much of a partier at all, but I accompanied them to it because it was their first event they had hosted an I wanted to show some support. After a few hours of getting pushed around by drunk people and getting beer spilled on my shoes, we finally decided to leave. At this point, the fraternity president, who drove us to the club, was too drunk to drive and only one other person in our group was sober enough and knew the roads in Atlanta well enough to drive. The only problem was that he left the car at a house 30 minutes away from the club. My friend and the president had to run from the club to the house to retrieve the car and bring it back to pick us up. While they're gone, one of my other friends was really drunk and tried to pick a fight with a bouncer. Under U.S. law, bouncers are legally allowed to do anything to you if you touch them. As such, when my friend grabbed the bouncer and tried to punch him, the bouncer picked him up and threw him back, nearly crushing me! By the time my friend and the president came back with the car, there were seven of us total who needed a ride back to campus. Since I was the skinniest, I was forced to sit on my friend's lap during the ride back. About 15 minutes into the ride, the president says that he wants to get food since he had the "drunchies". Even though we knew it wasn't a good idea, we had to listen to him since it was his car. He wanted to go to a place called Steak N' Shake, which is the go to late night fast food place near our school. When we got to the restaurant, the line was packed with law students from my school, mostly from Europe. Suddenly, one of the British law students started drunkenly insulting Germany for some reason. A German law student got angry and started a fight with him in the restaurant! The waiters had to come grab them and take them outside to let them calm down. However, their little scuffle really slowed the restaurant down and we had to wait 40 minutes to get our food...at a fast food joint! By the time we got back to our rooms, it was nearly 4 A.M. I passed out on my bed and didn't wake up till 2 P.M. the next day. SAPBM, Same question

I could go with a rather similar story, replace "Steak N'Shake" with "The Varsity." A fairly common experience I suppose.

Oh, those are fun stories indeed. Thanks for sharing. Brought a smile to my face Hmm, I can't really remember a truly boring party hosted by GOOD friends. If there were one I would set up an alibi such as errands or family obligations so I would have an excuse to leave early. SAPBM, What holiday movie would you like to watch / watch again this holiday season?

I've only had two jobs and three internships. My worst was easily my first real job. without going into details, the hours were long and terrible, and we had a micromanaging boss who would backstab teammates to one another. I don't know why he thought he could get away with it; we were a small team so we would tell each other about the backstabbing, as we could clearly see he wasn't trustworthy.
SAPBM,
