Is your character in the military? It's not clear. The character's occupation is one that could be either civilian or military, and I don't believe it's specified whether he is one or the other.

--is a male Caucasian who uses a code name.
--debuted in an ongoing series during the period in which Crisis on Infinite Earths was being published.
--has intrinsic super-powers not derived from a device or artifact, and which are not magical.
--is more of a guest-star than a character with his own title or a regular supporting character.
--is part of an organization, and has teamed with others, but is not part of a named super-team ala the Justice League, Justice Society, Crime Syndicate, etc.
--works for a government, and is not specified as working for any fictional agency.
--is not in the military, and does not regularly use guns.
--might receive a medal for "super-heroics", though this is somewhat misleading.
--subscribes to a certain ideology, though not exactly a "religion".
--is unlikely to pursue a threesome with Invisible Brainiac and Blaze even if he were gay.
--has never been shown to be married.
--has never been depicted as dying.
--has never teamed up with Batman.
--is not Mister Bones, and has not worked with the Suicide Squad.
