Sorry, too obscure?
IB has 5 right.
Andy has 8 right (assuming he also meant Hal Jordan and Wally West)
One character has not been guessed. This character had not, up until that point, been a member of the Justice League, and in fact was an in-universe hybrid of two non-heroic characters (although one was clearly dominant).

I've never read the story myself so I'm just guessing too I'm not sure I'll be able to guess that in-universe hybrid, unless perhaps we only need to guess one of the non-heroic characters. Superman (survived) Batman Wonder Woman (survived) Hal Jordan (survived) Wally West Ray Palmer Kyle Rayner

LOL There's no such thing as too obscure for us! I love the challenge.
I remember this seemed like a very "Image" style team at the end, so I'm sticking with the survivors. I did NOT remember Hal Jordan so I appreciate the generosity.
Superman Superboy (survived) Green Lantern/Hal Jordan (survived) Batman Flash/Wally West Wonder Woman (survived)
And the hybrid? I remember it was a smartie and considering the era, I'm going with a Luthor.

You don't need to guess both parts of the hybrid, just the dominant member.
IB now has six correct.
Andy now has nine. And one of them (which you can logically deduce) is Luthor, who was still alive after an alien apocalypse by combining himself with Metallo, to become Metallex (which sounds a lot more ludicrous now than I remember it being at the time).

I disliked most of those Elseworlds Annuals at the time but this seems like a fun story. Which issue was it in Xben?

I actually don't think these stories hold up, for the most part. When they first came out, it had the novelty of "oh cool, different versions of 'our' heroes" but that's a couple continuity reboots ago.
Superman Superboy (survived as Superman II) Green Lantern/Hal Jordan (survived) Batman Flash/Wally West Wonder Woman Metallex (survived)

Andy has the answer.
The story was a two-parter that appeared in the annuals for Adventures of Superman and Superboy of whatever year that DC had Elseworlds tales for the Annuals. So I guess whatever year we had that "Knights of Avalon" Legionnaires issue?
I didn't like most of those stories, but I remember really enjoying this one simply on the basis of the story itself. The premise was that an alien invasion had destroyed most of the world including most superheroes - and if ever a superhero was seen using any special powers, then the aliens would kill 1000 people or something, leading Superman to inaction out of fear. Someone, I don't remember who, goes looking for help and manages to find the 7 main characters to fight one last battle.
One of my favorite things about it was that the Hal Jordan in the story started in the same situation as he was at the start of "Emerald Twilight" - devastated at his failure to save his hometown from aliens, but through the story he finds redemption and regains his confidence and sense of identity. The whole thing came out not long after Emerald Twilight, and it felt like an alternate, and preferable, version of that story (for a Hal Jordan fan like me).

Sounds interesting, as a Hal fan I am intrigued.
The Avalon story was Legionnaires Annual 1 so this would have been 1993 or 1994 I think. Zero Hour was 1994 right? Wow, has it been that long?

Yes, Zero Hour happened so long ago, my college students never heard of it.
In the Avengers, the Black Knight has been romantically involved with several members. Name them.

That naughty Black Knight! Two of the three are married!
In GL Rebirth, Sinestro specifically mentioned three Green Lanterns besides Hal Jordan who trained under him. Name one of them.

Yup. Arkkis Chummuck and Khen-To were the others.
Sinestro's students have a bad habit of dying.

During the Infinity Crusade, the Goddess created a Holy Guard of Marvel heroes to do her bidding. These were largely heroes who were religious or had near death experiences and would be susceptible to her control.
List ten heroes who served the Goddess in the Holy Guard, and ten heroes who were not invited and fought back. The heathens!

8 right for the Holy Guard. 9 right for the opposition.
Aurora was indeed a late recruit, as only one of her personnas was susceptible. Here are some other confirmations to help:
Holy Guard 01. Aurora 02. Storm 03. 04. 05. 06. 07. 08. 09. 10.
Opposition: 01. Iron Man 02. Professor X 03. 04. 05. 06. 07. 08. 09. 10.
