I'm trying hard to hang onto a love for comics. This lifelong hobby deserves that much. My attention has shifted to the 50 cents bin lately, and that's where I found THIS no-doubt fantastic gem: ![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/Hj0LoGo.jpg) Will Raggedy Andy escape the evil clutches of these crazed freaks before he is neutered by fire?!? Is the story just as hyperbolic as the cover?!!? FIND OUT SOON! These No Longer Relevant Retro Random Reviews are going to be kinda live-posted. I'm off to read the comic right NOW, and post the review right away following! Be back shortly!

GOOD LORD. Firstly, it appears this title was one of those reprint comics DC published during its 20 cents days (even the LSH had a 4 issue title during that time). These stories all seem to be from the golden age! And the first tale was creepy enough, set in 1939 and featuring... A ZOMBIE. Or actually, more like a solid ghost (see any episode of AMERICAN HORROR STORY, groan). How hyperbolic was it? Judge for yourself: ![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/XolsRZyl.jpg) AND OMG: Memphis mention! ![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/jerzsx6l.jpg) Basically what happens here is Cobalt Kid meets the girl of his dreams but she's DAID Y'ALL. Which seems to be a running theme because the next story is titled THE GIRL IN THE GRAVE! Please forgive me but I'll really need to resume this comic tomorrow, it's dark and lonely here and I'm cold... so cold....

Black Magic: No wonder the JSA foe Rag Doll turned out so bad if that's his origin story.
But the big question is, will this issue make it into Teeds eights thread?
I thought the "I'll take you in any form" line showed this clearly to be another time travellin' Reep issue?

Yikers!! Now, to read THE GIRL IN THE GRAVE, by Simon/Kirby!
Oooh I kinda liked it, and Richard Temple: Dream Detective! Basically he's a super nice guy who interprets dreams, and by doing so he helps a nervous chick get over her fear of work and become a productive member of society instead of a head-case freak! i'm totally into dream interpretation so this was unexpectedly interesting.
NEXT STORY: MY DOLLY IS THE DEVIL!!! lolx I'll read it later... after dark! NYAHAHAHAHAHAHA

![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/UVHkVhMl.jpg) EEK! And yes, the story is over the top nutbaggery as the cover suggests. But the biggest horror was yet to come... ![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/wbgh0Okl.jpg) ...'cause Johnny's gonna grow up to be a big 'ol power-bottom! (shudder)

Completely!
I would definitely buy more issues of BLACK MAGIC, particularly to get more stories of Richard Temple: Dream Detective, whom I now want to gay marry. The issue closes out with a 2-page shortie showing Richard explaining a common dream to a patient. (dreamy sigh) He's so terrific!!!!
