I don't know if I really have a favorite comic strip. Pearls Before Swine is the only one that I recall giving me a bona fide LOL moment in the last several years, though.
So points for that.
I love Mutts, too. Hey! Its creator is even from New Jersey, like me! How 'bout that?!
Far Side really holds up well decades after it finished. So maybe that one could be my favorite.

Hey, Kids! My "Cranky and Kitschy" collage art is now viewable on DeviantArt! Drop by and tell me that I sent you. *updated often!*
My favorite local sub shop has a big picture frame filled with old Far Side cartoons. I always make a point of sitting next to it and re-reading them while I'm having my sandwich. Yeah, even the ones which take place inside the human body.

It's because of Gary Larson that we always call it, "Cat FUD" when it's time to serve the pets their dinner.
Of course, FUD is also the name of a food distribution company that supplies a lot of the Mexican/Latino grocery stores and restaurants around here. I see their trucks all the time.
I wonder how well Larson's jokes usually translated into Spanish...
We used to refer to any comestibles as "fud" because of a Laverne and Shirley episode where Shirley says grace: "God is great, God is good. God, we thank you for this fud."
She liked it to rhyme.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."
I've been watching some episodes of the old soap opera The Edge of Night from 1982 on YouTube that feature Frank Gorshin as a small-time criminal/actor named Smiley Wilson.

The cake decorator at my teenage-summer job used to sing a song about "Skeeters on peters" when she got bored. I will not repeat the lyrics, however. There's only room on this board for one Lard Lad.
Anyway, the song was still better than anything by Loverboy or Foreigner.

I beg to differ re: Loverboy.
Listen without preconceptions, especially for that disco-diva note that Mike Reno hits around 05:00.
