Today was our choir's final Sunday before our summer break (which is only four weeks). We always host coffee hour on our last Sunday. Today we held it in honor of our two longest-serving choristers who this year mark their respective 20th and 25th anniversaries in our choir. As for most such events, I baked a batch of my famous Toll House cookies.

I brought some Swedish-style ginger cookies home from the market today, but dinner was so rich. I probably won't open them until tomorrow.

I never liked plain milk growing up. The taste and smell just upset my stomach.

I really like chocolate milk. Soy milk is OK too. There's a local brand that sells melon milk.

Here in the US, there is an environmental concerns about almonds. Almond trees require a lot of water, but are mainly grown in California, which is currently in drought.

They can import them, but they'll be much more expensive that way.

Of course, as is well-known, Peanuts is my all-time favorite comic strip.

IMO, the Golden Age of Peanuts started with Sally's birth and ended about 19 years later.

My exposure to Peanuts started with the Charlie Brown encyclopedia series.

That series was a reworking of the earlier Charlie Brown's Super Book series, which I had as a child.
