105. ZATANNA. Super-sliding...of San Fran!
106. MARVEL TALES. Stunning!
107. WONDER WOMAN. While the Sensation cover looks good, I don't get what's going on. Is another boat using some water canon type thing on WW? She seems too far away for that to work.
108. CAPTAIN AMERICA. Little dot!

109. THE LONG HALLOWEEN - nicely dramatic 110. LSH - the colors make the scene so much better 111. PANIC- the wall of text that is Mad does not work so well in a comic book 112. THE TWELVE - maybe I'm biased. I like green.

109. Batman. So wanted to say "The eyes have it." But the cover just isn't as eye catching (hee) as the Batman one. Although, I'm not sure what a picture of a hand means? A new Bat-villain The Hand? The Ten Eyed Man? Grayson saying "Talk to the hand" to Bruce before huffing off to college? It'll never work Grayson. You'll end up with a gorgeous alien princess...oh....
110. Infinity Inc. The best things about the legion one are the symbols. The figures look posed, with Superboy being a prime example. Look at Fury over on Ordway's cover. Poised to strike, and you really get more physicality from the characters. I shall obviously retract this choice if put on trial by the rest of Legion World.
111. MAD. The toughest pick outside of the romance comics. Panic is great fun, with loads of detail and a some memories of that sort of madness. But MAD is so subversively good, although it can't stop prominently giving itself away.
112. The Spirit. That cityscape behind the couple is excellent. There's a touch of romance even though you know she'll hit him over the head with a brick inside. Stunned that the Twelve actually finished. Weren't there huge delays to that one?

101. DAREDEVIL because Ka-Zar's legs!
102. Floozie vs. SIlly Little Girl FTW! Altjough bitchy ol' Valerie cackling at the other girl's pain is a near-win!
103. That boy's idiocy annoys me when usually the CANDY logo alone can carry the whole cover. PATSY takes it because he's so dumb!
104. Girl comics is tryin gtoo hard, so SECRET SERVICE, Lord forgive me!!!
105. ZATANNA.
106. MARVEL TALES, though both are too blurby.
107. I love both images, but I think the one where the fairy girls are trying to help is a more chick-positive image, so WONDER WOMAN. But really, that Sensation image is very very close.
108. X-STATIX!

109. DEXTER'S
110. Poor coloring choice for II, so LSH wins.
111. PANIC
112. THE TWELVE cover is nice.
Not your most exciting round, Trish. Do better!!!

109. LONG HALLOWEEN. Although I don't quite understand it. (I've read LH, but it's been too long.)
110. LSH. I do like a starfield, the symbols at the bottom, and the outline logo.
111. MAD! ...and like that!
112. THE SPIRIT. But not in a walk!

Sentients and space-sentients, a hand for the Twelve covers!
And now I hand next year's Thirteens to indecisive sassmouths Power Boy and MLLASH. Get your triskaidekaphilia on, lads!
For everyone else, optional 113: please feel free to remix, recast, or react to any 12s, whether already in this thread or not.

I see All True Romance switched to All True Hateful, Doomed Relationship for #12.
I really enjoyed this thread Teeds. Thanks.

93 New Teen Titans – excellent forward momentum towards the reader and you’re instantly asking what the story is with the gun.
94 Amethyst Maxiseries – just an all around beautiful cover with a lot going on.
95 Joe Palooka – always a fan of great forgotten comic strip characters and Joe always had great covers
96 Funny Animals – this rendition of Hoppy is even more silly and funny animal-ish, and that’s how I like him.
97. House of Secrets – coming out a few years after HOM #12, HOS had more of the mid to late 50’s sci-fi aesthetic that works for me.
98. Iron Man – love Brian Bolland, but the Iron Man cover just works for me better, even if I thought the story inside was ‘meh’.
99. Crack Comics – though honestly, I don’t love either cover.
100. Our Gang – for the dynamic action going on and the impending doom
101. Nick Fury, Agent of Shield – perhaps the single hardest choice yet. The Daredevil cover is simply stunning, but there’s no getting around the sheer genius of Steranko’s SHIELD.
102 First Love – now *that* looks like a Bad Girl. I immediately want to know what’s going on inside.
103 Candy – Patsy is my girl, and I actually like her even better as Patsy Walker, America’s Sweetheart, than I do as Hellcat. But the Candy cover just seems to work better here with the other one not really saying or doing all that much.
104 Kent Black of the Secret Service – really cool cover with a scenario I want to read more about, impending doom and great composition split between three parts of the page. It’s notable that the Girl Comics cover is also really great too, though this one I like just a bit better.
105 Zatanna – both are cool covers, but I like Amanda Conner, a bird stealing food and a sunset on a bridge.
106 Amazing Spider-Man – classic Doc Ock cover that was shocking when it came out. Fantastic Ditko composition.
107 Wonder Woman – both have problems, but I like the WW cover better because I believe in the momentum more.
108. Captain America – this fairly crappy Cap story doesn’t deserve that to-die-for cover. Just beautiful: the shading on Cap & the shield, the skyline, the rooftop angles and of course the moon.

95. JOE PALOOKA, who is also on the short list of comics characters I might gay marry. Why isn't Joe P an LMB character yet? He's tailor made for us! As you're boyfriend who occasionally gets jealous and punches out the other LMBers...including the straight ones! (Hey, he isn't bright but he's loyal!)

109. The Long Halloween – minimal cover but used to excellent effect
110 LSH – just one of the best Baxter covers IMO, with perfect usage of Superboy in that point in time.
111 Panic – I appreciate what MAD is doing, but the Panic cover is just so full of crazy shenanigans that I can stare at it for a hours. And in fact, just spent a ton of time doing so. And I *still* probably haven’t noticed all the gags.
112 The Spirit – just drop dead gorgeous Cooke artwork. Stunning, and I would buy it no matter who it starred, what company published it and where I saw it. I want to be the Spirit in that moment. Great color too!

...and here's a few that didn't get a match: I love these two covers! Really great! (Never seen either before). The Crimes By Women cover is ripe for fumetti-zation. Perhaps depicting how Teeds met Cobie? And the first one is ripe for a cover of "Joe Palooka, Lash Lad's Boyfriend"!

SHUT YOUR EDUCATED MOUTH CAROL.
The Plas cover I have never seen, it is always weird for me to see covers from the DC 30 cents era that I don't know because I bought like everything I saw (incl issues of this Plas run). I can only guess this issue never made it to the spinner racks I perused pre-comic shop.

Crime Fighters - DC editorial are arrested after an all night Legion plotting session. Police stool pigeon Lex Luthor of Earth-2 can be seen on the right. Giffen (5 years for crimes against plotting) thinks that the totalitarian police look will be perfect for the Legion's science police.
Challengers - This is Erik Larsen's first comic and has the proto-Savage Dragon prominently featured on the cover.
Space Adventures - Braalian space exploration comes to an early end. With those heels, and the Braalian helmet that makes you deaf to oncoming aliens. Landing on Durla was probably a mistake too. Still, it will give us the RJ Brande is Rokk's father plot later.
Girls Love Stories - Face it Imra, he's gone. Look at that smug smile, even on an interrupted wedding day.
War Romances - Don't worry. Carol will come round to her soldier now running drugs from South East Asia. No fancy talk required, although a second language is useful.

I think that's mainly said by people who are the butt of such comments.
