Black Lightning: what's up with what I presume is the telephone table? How did BL's foot get on it? Was he standing on it? Where did the TV come from? Is that water being sprayed?
Even minus the wackiness of the LL cover, the composition (subtly sequential, even!) miles ahead.
Amazing Man kinda gives it all up on the cover.

While the 'GASP!! No you did-ent Miss Shark Thing' expression on Supes' face is hysterical, as is the ass-shot, the LL cover is so wrong yet also so right. My favorite thing is Supers being unable to see her floating right THERE.
While I'm a sucker for a Buckler's thighs cover, BL looks like his leg is broken here. I don't get it. And Curious (BLACK!) is so effing awesome, I think it beats any cover ever.
Yeah, the LL/snake cover has elicited some hilarious comments here, but I must give it to AMAZING-MAN. KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!

Lois was three for three, but Jimmy wins for the jungle cover, IMO. Totally crackers!

Jimmy makes me laugh, but I'd give this one to Lois. So regal! So divinely attired - and much better hats in the background.

Is this the story where Jimmy and his bride are seen together the morning after the wedding, presumably having consummated it?
Sheer madness, but on covers alone the body language of Lois is simply great as is the costume. I wonder what's dripping from the spear tip though...
Anyway I'm going back to being stunned about the lack of trunk snake comments from the amazing man cover.

This was the first matchup that worried me Lois would lose. I have many sentimental attachments to that Jimmy Olsen cover, mainly because Hembeck featured it in one of his early oversize collections that taught me so much humor about how silly/ridonkulous comics were as a kid.
I think I'm of the belief the Lois cover is BETTER on most levels, but the Jimmy cover still wins the round for me.

ALL-DAID VS! LOIS LANE VS FREEDOM FIGHTERS! Lois wins this one in my opinion. If you squint, the three characters on the cover look like (left to right) myself, Teeds, and Lash. I demand a Teeds et Lash et Fannie thread in the MMB!

There's something about being placed in a barren, white, post-anti matter cloud world that brings out the worst in Supermen.
But it's still a better cover than Freedom Fighters.

But it's still a better cover than Freedom Fighters. I just looked at the signature in the corner of the Freedom Fighters cover -- it was drawn by Rich Buckler, never a favorite of mine, so I have to concur with Thoth.

It brings up the question - can't Superman/Superboy tell when someone is using x-ray vision?
I'll go with the Lois cover, it's timeless (no ancient automobile) and she looks so pleased. Although Clark looks like a Clark Robot.
Isn't that EDE's nelly cap on Lana's head?

I used to be able to have children. But appearing as an extra for a month of DC Super family covers made me sterile thanks to all that super vision.
The Legion one has mystery, super powers and potential threat. It's also the cover where Lana sees Clark and a strange boy eyeing each other up, and assumes he's gay for the rest of the run.
Over in Lois Lane, an older Lana is desperately trying to stay relevant. Stealing EDE's cap as mentioned, the Green and Black polka dots to try and get into a Teeds thread. It's as sad as spending your nights monographing all your own clothes....Lois.
Superboy for me.

Crikey! Superman is completely evil. I had no idea Moore and Morrison just lifted all of their evil ubermensches from a Lois Lane cover! He even drove the truck like a Mad Max villain!
And the terror in Wondy's eyes! Yikes! if I've told Diana once, I told her loads - No bondage games at Trevor's military base! So much else going on in the cover and great captioning too! Who is Nubia? I am curious (Plaid)
I never used to be attracted to The Red Bee. But after a Lois Lane cover...

I have to give this one to Wonder Woman, for inspiring Lady Gaga's classic missile-launcher codpiece. (Sigh, remember way back when Gaga was still cool?)

Much as it pains me to do as a huge fan of John Romita Senior, I have to give this one to Lois. Her cover is more atmospheric and intriguing...and naughty.
